Well went flying today and lost my engine cowl. I actually didn't loose it but found it not to be attached to the fuselage anymore after landing. Seems that the cowl mounting tabs did not have glue on them. Looks like no glue hardly at all. I noticed the cowl had a hole in it that I didn't put there. Upon inspection I realized the engine had rubbed through it... I then realized that the cowl was only being held on by one bolt and the two wood screws in the side. Here are some pictures. I guess I am going to use 30 minute expoy and glue these back in then try to figure out what to do about my cowl! This appears to be a defect in the glue the factory used or what little bit was used. This is probably only an issue with the Gen1 and not Gen2. The tabs breaking also ruined a little of the fuselage vinyl striping. Not a good day at the field needless to say. Check out pictures. |

One of the tabs on my yak came loose when I hit the edge of the runway. It was just loose and i peeled back the covering to fix it but never had a problem like that. Mine also was lacking some glue. Prime_Time |

I knew from the get-go that they were weak and backed them up with a nice, thick filet of epoxy and milled fiberglass. I thought this was generally known. Sorry you didn't know about it...I am sure QQ/Reza will take care of you if your cowl was damaged, but be sure to reinforce those things! Most people use hardwood tristock, but my technique worked very well, too.

Sorry about the problem Anthony. I should've told you to go over those tabs with CA. We'll send you a new cowl. Epoxy should do the job now to place those tabs back in place with no problems. Email me your address please. Regards, Reza Gh. Quique's Aircraft Support |

| Well I got these back on with 30 minute epoxy and tri stock behind them for extra support. I wanted to fly it so bad I fixed it Sat night, let the epoxy set all day Sunday and flew it yesterday. No problems yesterday. Hey I did weight the plane yesterday (dry) with a digital fish scale. It came out 26lbs 7 ounces, this is with smoke system and smoke battery installed. I have unlimited vertical even on the break-in 32:1 lawnboy. I am happy! |

| Let's just say it's a good piece-of-mind thing. They are not guaranteed to fail, but are also not guaranteed not to...
