Looks Very Nice.
With Florida loosing the 332nd and Venice IMAC next year, are you considering hosting an event?
Looks like you have plenty of room.

This field (at least the club house and other structures) is modelled exactly after the club in Venice, FL.
We have plenty of room for flying and parking, so I see no reason why we couldn't host some events next season.
There is still much work to be done, however our Grand Opening is planned for sometime in November.
I'm looking forward to seeing some GIANTS come join us for some good times and great flying.

Tony Russo and anyone else for that matter... you're welcome to come fly at our field anytime. If you come out on the weekend, just ask for Dale.

Hey guys,
I have had several people asking me about whether or not we will be hosting IMAC events next season.
The answer is YES, most definitely!!!
I e-mailed our club prez and this is the response I got back...

Quote:
Dale,

Funny you should ask. We have been approached by a gentleman, John Sharpless from Aerotec, that heard about our new club and is asking if we would be interested in hosting IMAC this Feb-Mar. He himself is coordinating the JR Challenge in Lake Wales this year, but would considering moving it to our field next time if we are interested.

I am personally ALL FOR THIS. I suspect that many of our club members would feel the same way. We do have several CD's (Contest Directors) in the club. If we organize well we could possibly end up with TCRC being the home of the JR Challenge in 2008, not to mention bringing in some extra cash in the club from holding the events.

As far as holding an IMAC in March, I am for that but need someone to step up and take it on. I am just too busy to do that and try to finish building the club.

I spoke to John Sharless this morning. He will be sending me an email with his information and I hope to have a volunteer to take this on.

By the way...
Monty told me that Bob Shapiro from the Venice club is an excellent coordinater for events and will step up to help with this, because Venice will no longer be able to host IMAC events due to safety issues.
I passed this info on to the club prez and I am waiting for response.

Aerotech John... THANKS!!!
For putting our club in the limelight. We really appreciate it!!!
Hope to meet some of you guys at our field soon!

Hello,

Thanks for the openess for having an event at your new field. We are taking the task of doing a four day contest in Lakes Wales to replace the now gone JR Challenge. More than likely we will call the event the Aerotech Spring Classic. But a name has not been formally done. Were working on getting the info gathered for sanctioning now. I will do whatever I can too help to make an IMAC contest happen at your new field and I know many folks in Tampa/ Brooksville/venice/Ocala that can assist to make the event something that will be great fun.

Thank you again and I will have some items email in a few days.

Best Regards

John

Here is a photo update of the progress of the building area.
The roof beam and concrete slab was poured this past week.
Now we're ready to finish the club house.
Next up... 15' x 60' concrete slabs on either side of the clubhouse for the "stables".
TECO (our local power company) is going to install poles and wire to the clubhouse
at no additional cost other than the initial $500 we already paid them.
Things are shaping up great.
