I am currently flying the MX-2 in IMAC . .competed this weekend with it. I'm using the BME-110 for power. The plane came out at 30.5 lbs, CG, with the batteries on the CG is neutral-a tick nose heavy. Power with the BMe is very good, but you have to use a 2-blade Mejzlik 28-10 for decent vertical performance. Overall flight characteristics are excellent-superior. Mild mixing is required for rudder-elevator and rudder-aileron, but the plane rolls axially and has absolutely no bad manners when flying IMAC style precision. Using a 150, that weighs 8 lbs, on the nose is going to make the plane come in very nose heavy. The BMe weighs a svelte 4 lbs, so adding 4 lbs to the nose is a questionable idea. Sure, there will be a ton more power, but adding over 10% to the wingloading, and then adding it all to the nose, is pretty counterproductive IMHO. As for size, it is noticeably smaller than the 3m Extras and other 40% planes, but the flight performance is as good as anything out there (Short of those silly Yaks, that is) Check out the "MX-2. .30 lbs" thread. There are also several videos of the plane in flight. Mark Trent has one on this site, as do I.

Every time I see that plane in the green scheme it makes me want to yell KAWASAKI's RULE!

I've got one in the yellow scheme. DA150 on compact muffs., alu. spinner, Wess32x10A, 50 oz tank, 2x24 oz smoke tanks, Sullivan Skywriter (POS), 2xPeerless4800, 1xRelion2400, SF Turbo Reg., SF G3 PE, Fomeco Reg., 9xHS5955TG, SWB alu. arms. Set up for IMAC with 1.25" arms on elevator servos, CG right on spar and perfect for IMAC. Very lively and agile, can't say a bad thing about it, except stock rudder horn soesn't allow enough throw for my taste (knife edge loop).

I've foudn that having the cG about 3/4" behind the center of the tube makes the plane perfectly neutral for IMAC flying. Much farther forward and it gets really nose heavy in a hurry. Got an AUW of the plane?

Nice you got there guys, now I see how big it is, I'm checking 40% airplanes, but of the MX2 I didn't find so many info that way I did the tread. The thing is the size is pretty good and is more easy for transport than a superX

Kris, I don't find that mine is nose heavy. On a 3/4-full power 45 deg upline rolling inverted, it really only pulls very little to the ground. I do have a 3% down elevator to idle mix for straight down lines, and around 13-15% up elevator to rudder for straight knife edge. I am still working on mixes, trying to make it work at all speeds and AOAs. I have no idea of dBs. I've always found the DA150 on muffs to be much more quiet than a DA100 on muffs. The prop can get a little noise some times, but I like to rip around the sky some times. I find, if CG is brought back, no matter how little elevator throw, or how much expo you have, the plane is much more likely to jump around when buffeted by the wind. Mine slows down and lands very well and is a breese to fly.
