Default Most interesting plane carrier

Here is a pic of the most interesting plane carrier I've ever witnessed in person. I've seen pictures of others, but this one was at the Giant Scale fly-in I attended at the Flying Pilgrims in Canton, MI this weekend.

Sweet way to utilize too loves in one.

The plane is a 35% Edge, not sure of the kit, with a DA-100, I believe. Real full of info, aren't I.

He didn't say anything about that, but his wife said they get some strange looks

what did u do?
I used to be an idiot.
I owned a company called "Rider 4 life" and did the stunt thing.
You can only get caught doing wheelies and such sooo many times before it becomes more than just a "ticket"

BUT.... after my daughter was born, I calmed down.. (4 years ago) and stopped the reckless riding... unfortunatly for me... a bad driving record follows you like stink on a skunk.

After many many BAD tickets for wheelies, and other stupid actions, I started to get tickets for 28 in a 25 in my car... reason being that cops are always running your plates when they get behind you, and when a record like mine comes up.. BAM instant ticket because the officer knows its an easy ticket, who's going to believe a guy in court who has a driving record that takes 8 sheets to print out.

Don't get me wrong, I do not blame the cops, most of my friends are cops and they are just doing thier job. I was an Idiot on 2 wheels for years, the fact that I'm not dead is a miracle.

Last year I owned a Yamaha V star 1100 touring bike... and I was just tooling along at 68 in a 65. I got pulled over for speeding and had to go to court.

During court the judge said I had no reason to be on the road with my record. I agreed, and then explained that most of the "BAD" tickets were from my past, (the bad tickets were around 8 years old at this point) and that I had matured and calmed down. The judge noticed that since 1998 all my tickets were for 5 mph over the speed limit or under, and that most were in my car. BUT, since this ticket was on a motorcycle (she didn't know the difference between a sportbike and a V-star 1100) it was time I took a break from riding motorcycles. She suspended a 120 day jail stint and made it so it would not even show up on my record if I sold my bike and stayed off motorcycles for 2 years. Naturally I said "YES YOUR HONOR".

So for 2 years I cannot own or operate a 2 wheeled vehical.

This is fine with me... I own my Mini Van/plane hauler, keep it at 55, and I have bought a old lady white hair wig, pop it on and stay in the slow lane.

I learned my lesson long ago, and now just have to go the extra step to make sure I don't get pulled over for any reason.

Ok 2 things.

1) Yes I was stupid, and used to ride irresponsibly... BUT

2) All my stunting actions were done on empty roads.. I was not one of the guys you see doing wheelies in rush hour traffic... I was dumb enough to take my own life into my hands, but I was smart enough to not put other peoples life at risk by doing this stuff on crowded roads.

Also, in 1999 I wrecked doing a stoppie at around 102 mph... flipped over the bike and basically almost mauled myself pretty good. Luckly I ALWAYS wore a good ARAI helmet and a VANSON jacket, as well as good long pants and motorcycle boots. I broke my collar bone, 4 fingers, and ripped a ligament in my knee... so all my actions were not without repercussions.

If I can say anything to guys messing in the stunt scene...
1) Don't do it.. you never know when your number is up
2) If that dosen't work... ALWAYD wear your protective gear
3) Do NOT Do THIS STUFF ON PUBLIC ROADS (Or at least ones with other cars on them)
4) If possible, there are many drag strips that now run "stunter nights" take it there, NO TICKETS, if you maul yourself, there are paramedics there, and there is no other cars your crashing bike can hit.

But personally, i would just skip it... my left shoulder is now .75" shorter than my right.

Hope that explains it...

PS... my final word of advice.... keep both wheels on the ground...

Ken, it is funny that you have posted this. I have been toying with the idea of building a plane hauling trailer to pull behind my bike. When I was going to motorcycle events, I pulled a trailer with the gear for the group. I have pulled trailer for over a total in excess of 150,000 miles behind motorcycles. I have started coming up with a design that will haul up to a 35% and my camping gear. If I decide to build this, it will be a winter project and hopefully completed by the Joe Nall. Now that would be a great way to make the trip.
