Default Spinner question

Hello Guys,
Been thinking of moving into a Carbon Spinner. What are your experiences with such spinners? Are some better then others ?
I would be needing a 5". What can I expect suggested spinners to weigh in at ? I have been putting my plane on a major diest and things are looking better all the time as the weight comes off.
So, Suggestions please.

Thanks

Joe: I am putting my Pitts on a diet too. The G38 runs great but is a Boat Anchor, so my first bit of Liposuction will be to dynamite the engine off and sew on a light 45cc or 50cc engine on it with a Carbon Fiber Spinner. The Prop will also get the "Paris Hilton" treatment. I have already tossed my NiCad and replaced it with a NiMh. (got more battery with less weight and no memory problems either) Good luck.

Check out Troy Built Models for CF spinners....The weights may be posted there too......They are very light, and the spinner is mounted to the backplate with small, aluminum 4-40 screws....about as light as it gets.

The little screws get annoying..
you have to lock tite them in, and then they are a BIATCH to get back out.

The weight savings is pretty decent though... but if you check your prop bolts often,
get ready to have a dremel and a extra set of those stupid button head screws...

Besides the annoying screws I love the CF spinners, look great , weigh NOTHING, and work fine.

Hi Joe
I have been using carbon spinners for a long time now, DA sells a good one also Pete model spinners are available everywhere, the problem is removing the 6 screws each time you tighten the prop and locktiting them especially if you are using wood props.

I have been running No Limitz ones and they are great. Prior to the No Limitz I ran the Petes and the Mejzlik and they to are nice but are more $$$$.

We just released a a few different sizes of spinners. These are fiberglass with a glossy white finish. the 5" weighs 5.5 oz. the really nice feature is that they are mounted with a single through bolt. price for the 5" is 85.00

I have seen lots of broken back plates on the carbon spinners. With ZN(mejzlik) and Petes.
