I would go with the Fliton. I just got the Nitro-Models Yak 54 about 2 days ago and I am not to impressed with it. So far the quality is crap!!!!! Some of the control surfaces have 5 slots for the hinges and the stab only has 4. The plane is all stringers and it seems like is should be made for electric. These are just the things that I have found wrong so far and I only started building is 30min. ago.

2 things there my friend.

1) its EASY to add more hinges.

2) If you want a 3D plane you want lite weight.
I have never seen this model, but before you just say its crap... think about what you actually want. I have seen some high end 40% planes that are "all stringers"
But you can't have a fully sheeted plane and have a GREAT 3D plane at the same time (for the most part).

Give it a chance... even though it says ARF... i've never seen one EVEN $2500 ARF's that didn't need a drip of glue, a bit of ironing and what not.

I could be wrong and the thing is a POS, but untill you get it set up and fly it... I wouldn't judge!

The guys I fly with have been flying the Cermark Banshee.... and it kicks A$$!!!!!
THey are flyin'em electric, but they are light and fly nicely....
Though I think they will need the Flaperon mixing thingy with elevator to Harrier nicely....

I've been flying my fliton inspire 60 everyday and leaving my comp arf 260 at home. This litlle inspire is soo sweet dosen't quite have the elevator authority that I would like and I can't move the c.g. back anymore but it still does all manuvers pretty darn well for a small bird. It can do the sweetest knife edge passes with complete control 6" off the deck without worrying about crashing at high speeds and low. When I eventually crash it I'm getting another and if you look at the specs it comes in alot lighter than the extra fliton has. I went electric just like they have on their web site. these aren't 40 size though if you want to 3d with glow. good luck

I admit I did jump the gun so to speak. You have a strong point because it seems that all the planes I have that are POS fly better than the higher quality airframes sitting around the plane room. I guess I just got a little discouraged when I saw all that. I will just have to see how it handles in the air for the final judgment.

Well, it is a "one-off" design. I don't even think they tell you who actually makes that plane. I know China, but who? I hate to say it, but planes like that Yak are typically planes that were rejected by a reputable american or European company, but the factory builds them amyway and sells them on Ebay or whatnot - for the price, I am sure you can't really complain, but I don't think you will get great product support, either...

I fly the Fliton Extra with an electric set up and its a kick ass plane. I don't know how it is with glow but generally glow planes come out lighter than electric. This plane however is very lightly built to begin with. My AUW is 6.3 lbs. and has a 2.5:1 thrust to weight ratio. One thing you should definately do if you get the Fliton is beef up the firewall/motorbox. Also the aluminum landing gear is pretty soft but they bend back into shape easily enough, I bought some carbon fiber gear from Graftech that's taller and stronger than the stock gear. I did this mainly for prop clearance (I'm swinging a 17-8 APC). I hear the Fliton Inspire is super flying plane also. There's a vid on Fliton's website of the Inspire flying on glow.

Is it me or the nitromodels yak has the same exact color scheme as the aeroworks yak. Same factory perhaps.
