Help! AFPD newbie

I just got AFPD and was wondering which plane that comes with it would best represent what i'm flying ........................which is 40 inch type foamies.................... Hacker Super Zoom,Airfoilz Edge 540 and a 32 inch yak.thanks. I've flown many of the planes on it and find they either are way under powered, poor flying, then i make mods on them to make them perform like what i'm flying now and once i get motor responding like what i'm flying they seem to easy.what is a set up that is going to help me or did i just waste a lot of money on a sim system and new computer.

I would say you did not waste your money. I have had AFPD for over a year and I really like it. The planes need tweaking no doubt but so do all Sim planes. Sims are awesome for learning stick timing and practicing maneuvers above your ability. Sims however are not very good for flying around the way you would at the Field at your present skill level.

Sims have a very big inherent problem, the planes and environment are perfect. In other words you will never fly a "perfect" plane or in a "perfect" wind.

Nothing beats burning real fuel at the field, but it I find it very helpful to advance my skills and timing down low and crashing on the Sim. This way I can try that maneuver at the Field higher up and know I can get out of it.

If you have tweaked the plane to make it to easy, DE-tweak it to make it hard.
I know this is not a direct answer to your question but I hope it helps,
Cheers

Turn sim rate up to 120% and dial in a little weather. Their default weather conditions is what is perfect, not the sim. You can dload Airfoilz stuff here: http://www.ipacs-sim.com/phpbb/

The Yak is dead on, the Edge takes a little tweaking.
