Got Shot Down Today....On the run up stand!

While I was doing my range check, someone turned on his Tx. I had the Frequency pin and my AMA card was in the slot. I turned all my gear off and walked to the far end of the flight line to inform him that he just shot me down and how glad I was that I was still on the ground when it happened. He offered many apologies, but the rest of the club would not even let him touch his Tx until everybody was accounted for.
Be careful guys! This could have been real ugly! Thank God my stuff came home in as many pieces as it left!
Can't wait for the spread spectrum stuff to arrive.

Why do people turn their transmitters on without the pin. Sorry, I don't see any excuse for this.

The issue is TRAINING!! When we have a new guy at the field, we spend 10 minutes going over how the field works and 4 hours teaching him how to fly (not everyone, but most.) We need to set the tone from the get go, safety first! It wasn't my dad was it Patrick? BAHHHAAHHAAAA!!!

3D'er - Thanks. I love it! It has a modified G38 in it and you could pull stumps with it.

Patrick you got lucky this time, that thing worries me the most, I have seen it happen many times, people turning their transmitter on without a pin, that's a big safety issue and something should be done about that.
