There is a new website that allows you to setup maps and share them. I have setup an AMA map that will allow anyone to show their flying field nationwide.. Currently 22 sites are listed.. You will have to register, but it is no big deal at all. Once you register, you can place your flying field on the map.. Choose "Hybrid" on the left side of the map, most likely you will see your field from overhead satellite imagery . It uses the google earth pictures and they are pretty clear. Just type in a city to get close, then you can drag the map around to get the exact location. Click the link below to get to the map.. http://www.frappr.com/?a=showmap2&mapid=2700959 Have fun! |

Hey SCIMACER - that's a pretty cool site. I'll add our field to it pretty quick. Here is another option for everyone. The link will take you to the Google Earth Forum and my post. I have gatherd the location of over 1100 RC Club Runways (not the member zip code location). If you just click on the 'Open This Bookmark' link it will automatically open and add my data to Google Earth when it opens. If you haven't tried Google Earth yet, you should. It's FREE, and it's fast, and has some awesome search capabilites. I also have the same locations in an Excel spread sheet with all of the coordinates in Latitude and Longitude along with Elev. I think there are about 12 rows of info per club. Anyhow, I like what your doing!! I've been collecting this kind of data now for over 6 years and am always looking for new fields. Here is the link to the Google Earth bookmark and if you don't have Google Earth downloaded, I think it's an option that will pop up if you dont', hope you enjoy this one as well. http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showthrea...r/402368/page/

Hiya Gregg!! Folks, this is something Gregg and I have been dabbling with. Uses google maps API that feeds in Gregg's data. Just a test to see how it could integrate into FG. Big props to both of ya for maintaing the lists, very cool to have appropriate info especially with the great mapping technologies that exist today.. http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/vbgooglemaphse.php
