Default Flying sites around Melbourne

Hi Guys,

Could you tell me a bit about the flying that takes place around Melbourne...are the fields far away...where would one go to fly 35% and larger planes...maybe you could link me to some club websites if they have.

Thanks

Selwyn

Hey selwyn,

I also fly at marcs, but there is a list on the VMAA website.

http://www.vmaa.com.au/content/clubs/club_listing.php

As far as i know, In melbourne MARCS and MELTON are the only two clubs that fly giants but others might know more....

The Bendigo club is about 1 1/2 hours drive north east of Melbourne, but is great place to fly. Your welcome to fly with us. There are plenty 35-40% aerobats at Bendigo.

P&DARCS is also big enough for giants. From the look of it MARC's looks border line for bigger than 50cc but never been their so cant say for sure.

You can fly bigger then 50cc at MARCS, its just not real suitable for IMAC practice. I regulary fly my 44% Giles there. That said Melton is a far better choice for big gassers and only 40min from Melbourne on the Ballarat side.
Selwyn you are welcome to come have a fly out at Melton if you like.

Close to Melbourne I would say p&darcs or melton, after that Bendigo would be the only other place where you could fly a schedule comfortably.

we are 200k's west of melbourne (125 miles), full sized trikes with 100cc go kart motors land here occasionaly, and take off again, used to be a lot of ducted fan jets run off our strip too, a little further than others, but you are more than welcome
