Sorry about the loss. I have a question for any of the double vision owners. I would like to buy one as my first gasser but am not sure I can fit it in my vehicle. Can the cabane and gear be easily removed for transportation and what is the hieght of the vertical stab including the tail wheel? thanks!

ion01 - the dv is a marvelous flyer - it can take serious 3D abuse - yes it takes a little longer to assemble at the field but boy its great to fly - i am on my second one!! the hight of the stab im not sure but 15inches is about right - goes into most small cars

My Pitts is only a little smaller and it fits in the back of my Magnum, easily.

Sorry for your loss. That sure hurts. We had a similiar thing happen to us on a beautiful Sukhois that was my favorite plane. My son had previously crashed two foamies on the TX saying he got hit but I didn't think much about it figuring he just dumb thumbed them in. I put my Sukhois up a few days later, no one at the field and after range checking (which we do every time before we start the day of flying) I got hit twice and crashed trying to get it back. It too was on PCM. To make a long story short, after sending everything back to Futaba (TX and RX), going through all the batts, (Dura LItes), and checking all the switches and regulators, the guys at Futaba found the antenna was bad on the TX and would inadvertantly lose signal for a brief second and would cause lockout. Futaba installed a new antenna on the 9C and all has been good since! I hated losing that Sukhois, it was the best flying plane I ever had. From now on for safety sake, I just put on a new antenna every year whether I need it or not.

Again, sorry for your loss and hope you can figure out what happened.

Pale Rider Va- Is that a golf back cart? Thats pretty cool.

Adrian- If you could pm me the exact height and whether or not the gear and cabane can be removed, when you get a chance, I would really appreciate it. I would love for it to be my first gasser but if it can't fit I will have to find something else.

Famous last words "did ya see that I jest got hit" happens to most guys that fail to set up their bird properly or check things throughly. Too bad about the crash, s&%t happens.
