Got a new cell phone and it's blue tooth ready or compatible or something. I'm not very tech savvy and refuse to read the 1000 page instruction booklet just out of principle. Any body want to explain this to a simpleton such as myself?

Means you can "connect" to other blue tooth devices. Laptops, wireless earpieces, other cell phones. Like if you want a chicks number and she has a blue tooth phone, you can trade numbers by hitting a few buttons, or you can download your address book from your phone into your blue tooth computer! Its cool.. but only slightly useful. Although, the wireless ear piece is sweet for driving ... but don't wear it walking around you will look like a TOOL.l

Jim.. I use my bluetooth enabled pocket pc phone to connect my laptop to the internet while on the go. It's generally faster than dailup and in EVDO areas you get DSL speeds. So.. IMO Bluetooth enabled cells are very useful.

If you have a BT phone, you can get one of those sweet blinking blue earpieces that everyone is runnin' around with nowadays. Funny part about that is, people aparantly forgot about the whole "cell phone meltin' yer brain" issue, and now some of the BT earpieces actually go inside your ear canal and operate off of the vibration from your skull. Nice. The basic vision of BT was that if everyone had BT on their phones, you could zap your contact information to a business associate, or ghetto rat, simply. Basically, what I'm trying to say is - huck that thing in the trash and go buy a new swashplate for your heli. It's all a bunch of hippy love sh!t.

One of the nice feature of bluetooth is that some cars are now coming with bluetooth equiped hands free devices. When you are in the car it works through the cars stero system. And when you exhit the car it operates like a normal phone. Pretty handy if you are in and out of the car all day and live in a state like NY or CT where they can pull you over for not talking hands free. The blinking tumor behind you ear !!! I hear you there!!! can you say brain damage
