Help! DA-50 problems

Three months ago we installed a brand new DA-50 engine on a QQ yak-54 model. The engine was running smoothly, reliably and trouble free.
Last sunday while i was flying the engine quit without any prior wanring.Since it was the last flight of the day we did not pay any attention.Today the engine refused to start.Actually its fires but after 4-5 seconds it quits. With the choke 1/3 open we managed to make it run but the performance was not reliable. As a result we did not risk to fly.
We replaced the spark plug plug but there was no difference.
it seems that the fuel flow is normal.
We suspect that here might be some dirty in the carb.
we would like to have your opinion.
1.What might be the problem?
2.What is the best way to clean the carb?
3.we store the model vertically with its nose down. Sometimes because of that the engine is flooded. do you think this might cause any problem?

WE WILL APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK! THANK YOU!

I had similar problems with my DA-50 on the weekend. In my case, I noticed a higher then usual idle on the last flight of the previous weekend. Then yesterday, I had a hard time starting the engine and couldn't get it to idle reliably with symptoms of a lean idle mixture.

Pulled the cowl off last night and noticed that the gasket between the crank case and reed plate had sucked in at the top and was allowing air in. I had noticed an extra "pffft" noise as I flipped the prop but wasn't sure if I was imagining things or not.

My trusty DA rep is supplying a new gasket today and has offered to fit it if required.

Cheers
Jeremy

Jeremy, I had the same problem on the 50 in my Ulti a while back, except the gasket split and spat out instead of being sucked in. Mine just stop and wouldn't restart, but the strange noise lead me to the busted gasket. Put a new gasket in a has not been a problem since.
