Default Optimum amp draw

Today i was bored and decided to actually use my inline meter from H-9 on my elevator servos and rudder. And was wondering what was the correct amperage draw at full deflection. I have 45 deg's up & dwn on my elev & 45 deg's lt & rt on my rudder.

With the meter hooked up to my elevators. It was 0.39 up & 0.22 dwn. both side's are just about the same and at idle it was 0.02 which i dont think is nothing to worry about. i may be wrong.

On my rudder i have 1.00 rt & 1.09 lt. that makes me a little concerned. since i dont have alot of tension on my cables.

Does anybody know if there are any correct #'s that the servos should be at.

Thanks Dennis

Dennis,

I assume you are joining more then 1 servo together? If so i have used the H-9 amp meter when setting up all my planes. I have been able to get all my servos to atleast .17 when checking the end points and centers. I always set up a master servo then plug the H-9 meter to the other or slave servo and change the matchbox or atv of that servo.

Hope this helps,

Andrew

Sounds like you have some binding going on with with the servos themselves if there are more than one or with the rudder itself.

The current going to an unloaded servo should be the same centered as it is fully deflected. The only time the current goes up is when the servo is moving or when there is a force being applied to the servo and it is having to work to hold the surface in the desired location.
