Alright guys, please weigh in. I've compaired all aspects of these two great airplanes and just can't seem to make up my mind. It will be a backup (read: hanger queen) to my Carden 330 for a little IMAC and general Sunday flying.

Walkerk122, Well I hope everyone tells you to go with the Dalton because I pulled the trigger on a Dalton 39% 300 extra about a month ago and I am about finish with the fuse and jumping into the wings soon. I haven't had alot of time to put into it, so thats why it's taken me so long. So far It's been real easy and looks like a solid airframe. Can't wait to finish and fly it.

Go with the Dalton. They are proven in top level competition, cost less, and more bang for the money, ie precision laser cut wood, carbon fiber wing tube and stab tube . Its also a little bigger, 42% instead of 40%. The Dalton kits are easier to build , ie lasered and notched to fit straight, and cannister ready, where the Carden will require a lot of extra work to lighten the wood, especially in the engine box area in order to get the weight below the stock weight of a Carden which is usually around 40 lb. I don't believ any of this stock 37.5 lb Cardens. At least none of my three 40 % Cardens never even came close. But the Cardens are still great flying planes, especially if you don't mind the extra work to get the weight down.

Both are great airplanes, but I would go with the Dalton, easier to build, not that a Carden is that hard. Biggest reason is you don't have to spend all that extra time lightening it like you do the Carden, and the included carbon tubes is a nice feature Tom |

That right there is a real tough question. I know which one I would get, but that can't be a deciding factor. They are both great machines. I would say go with the one that you think looks better inside, and out. I believe that's about all it comes down to. They are both, the best of the best. Mike Darr |

Get the one you like the looks of better Both are amazing planes. I had a Dalton 260 but lost it in a Mid-air. I am now flying a Carden 260. The subtle differences in how each fly wont be enough of a factor to base a descision on for 99.99% of us out there.

Thanks for the input guys! I've been talking to Tony about building a 260 for me. I'd build it but #2 is due on December 15th and moma does not want me in the shop all winter . Tony's quote isn't too bad!!
