Help! Showtime 4D 90

Hey guys i bought a showtime the other day ( since i crashed my funtana 40 ) and i was just wondering if a YS110 is enough power for it. i heard it and a saito 150 are nearly equivilent.. If anyone has had this engine how do you find it runs? and does it hold a tune well?

I've seen it fly with a saito 125 but seems like the YS 110 in my extreme flight yak turns the same 16x4 3D prop almost 750 more rpm with both running on 20/20 fuel, also his engine is new and mine is 2 years old.

Hi guys, (Sorry for english spelling)

I have a long story with this plane and engine !! Finally I found this setup is perfect for ShowTime 4D :
  1. YS 140 with cool power Heli 30%.
  2. JR 559 MG for aileron , Hitec 9625MG for elevator and 9645MG for rudder.
  3. Fuel Tnak on CG for palancing with engine and put servo rudder in back.
  4. APC 16x8 prop is best but APC 16x6 is good also.
  5. 45% spoaileron and 45% flapleron you feel this plane is awesome.
this all things to have a great plane for Free style flying.

hey I think the ys 110 would pull it hard. I got a evolution 1nx in mine and my plane flys great. Hope you have fun with the new plane. The only advice i got for you is change out the ball links and the control horn peices. I have already started to strip mine out. The guy at the lhs told me to epoxy the treads in once i get them where i want them. I think I am going to do that. But I am also going to put better ball joints on. One of mine came off already with like only 10 flights on it. Well tell me how yours flys.

I have one with a YS120 on it, and it is great. I would suggest a 140 would be perfect in fact. I fly mine with the SFGs on full time, even used carbon fiber rods to brace them permanently.

This plane will roll slower than anything I have ever flown.
Fantastic airplane.

Ok Let's compare here.

I have a FuntanaX 100 with a YS 1.10 in it at 1108 Sqs at 9.3 lbs.

The Showtime 4D is 900 Sqs at 8 to 9 lbs.

The Funtana X100 is a blast with a YS1.10 full 3D off the hook performance.
Vertical punch is ludracris! Yes thats with 30% nitro...

I would have to say that putting a YS1.10 or a 1.40 would work. But being that the fuse may be a little shorter would cause some weight to be added somewhere I would guess- since the YS1.40 is a little bit heavier(5.7 ounces to be exact).

I would strongly suggest a APC 16.5X5W prop for optimum 3D performance on the YS1.10. It does work extremely well. At least for the AFunatanaX which is slightly bigger plane than the Showtime 4D.

I would keep the Showtime as lite as possible it should rock your socks off with a YS1.10 on 30% nitro and APC 16.5 X 5W prop. IMHO!!

I flew it for the first time yesterday with the OS 1.60 and it was awesome, just had to put a little more weight on the tail, but man I love this plane!!!!!

I fly the showtime and have the ys 110 in it, it is the ideal engine for this model and it has plenty of power to fly it and will pull with outhority out of a hover- this engine makes the model a dream to fly.
When combined with the SFG's this model is one of the nicest glow model I have flown, but a word of advice you will need to brace the SFG's with some CF rod as the will break, this I have found is the only downfall to the model.
