You might want to contact Bryon Stryker, he's been chompen at the bit to get into IMAC and I don't know if he's going to do that next year or not. His handle is 1943 on this formum and I would encourage you to contact him yourself.

I'm not going to compete, but I am very interested percision flying, just realized that just throwing sticks around gets boring, and flying an actual sequence is really challenging.

I'm 10 min outside Cleveland, but I fly at the Ravenna field.

I'm looking for someone who has actually participated in IMAC contests. I have been practicing the Basic sequence and I've attended the judging seminar in Muncie this year. I have no problem helping another new person, but I need to find someone who is farther along than me. Shouldn't be too hard since I'm a basic newbie. Anyone out there in the more advanced classes willing to mentor a new guy starting in the basic class ? Dan

To some extent it depends on how bored you are with banging sticks and how well you like the local club. For me back six years ago or so imac wasn't at all for me. Now I want there to be a contest within 4 hours every weekend! I would recomend just coming on down to columbus and giving it a try then go up to jackson MI in a couple and I think you will be suprised how much fun you will have the second time out. And don't even bother trying to decide to go or not by what the weather man says. Just show up and fly or talk shop under an ez up or shelter house. There is a wealth of information that is easily obtained once you get involved with it.

Jon--Thanks for your reply. I'm north of you on route 11 in Madison OH. I am trying to go to the Columbus contest and make it my first as a contestant in Basic. I was there a few years back as a spectator. I have been trying to practice the basic sequence but the weather has not been so hot. I hope to meet up with you and practice with you. I'm sure I can learn from you. Let me know what works for you. I fly at the Thompson Prop Busters field in Thompson Ohio (The drag strip). Thanks again for your reply.
