I dunno, "Adventure" sounds a little too much like a bad infomercial.

Suffice it to say this is where I'll post my current, past, and new projects (when I can remember to), plus anything else I feel like talking about (usually RC related).

Don't expect too much, but feel free to comment

With other projects popping up in addition to having little time, it has taken me a while to make progress on the H9 Cap 232. I'm happy to say, however, that the initial assembly is finished and it's been sent over to a friend's house for engine, cowl, canopy, and radio installation (I ran out of time and the other friend I was building it for was getting antsy).

To be entirely honest I wasn't very impressed with the quality of the ARF. Assembly was fairly straightforward but they could have saved a LOT more work with a small amount of planning (and there were several steps that just didn't make sense).

All in all, it looks like decent construction... nothing exceptional though.

A Slimline smoke pump and 32oz tank will be installed also. We'll see how that goes.

It should be ready to maiden within a week or so! I'll be sure to post pics of it.

Now, to my projects...

Right now I'm in a massive saving crunch so I can buy a new vehicle. My 95 Acura Integra, although a great little car, was just not cutting it as a plane hauler. I'm looking for an early-2000's Mazda MPV minivan now... I should have the cash for one within a month if all goes well.

This means I haven't been able to buy myself all the toys that I've wanted. I sold my Ultimate recently and I've been without a gasser for a month now, and I'm really getting withdrawal symptoms. I did manage to pic up a couple of minor projects though:

1. A GP UCanDo .46 with a broken firewall... I bought it from a friend, repaired it, and it flies exactly like my old one (needs some tail weight though). If I crash it I'll throw the O.S. 91 4-stroke into a Twist. I think the Twist has slightly better flight characteristics.

2. .60 size Decathlon from an unknown manufacturer. Another one purchased from a friend getting out of the hobby... this one is a great "relaxation" plane that I use to carve figure 8's in the sky.

3. Yesterday morning I ordered a Phase 3 F-16 EDF, and convinced another friend (the Cap owner) to buy one also so we can do some formation flying. I had to scratch that buying itch...

Right now most of my planes are down due to mechanical issues so I gotta get some repairs done.

But, the good thing is that as soon as I buy another vehicle, I can start buying planes again. I'm going to hit up the Kansas City swap meet and buy whatever catches my eye. We shall see.

Also, a friend of mine is selling a couple of planes I might end up getting... an Aeroworks 50cc Python and Wild Hare 28% Sukhoi. Due to the cost I'll probably stick with 50cc for now. Another local guy has a ridiculous deal on an Aeroworks 35% Edge 540, so I might jump on that too.

Till next time...
