Posted 08-30-2007 at 09:11 PM by 3ddd
well i have thought it out and i think my winter build will be an aeroworks 35% edge 540t.i have always wanted this plane and i am finally going to have one.i am trying to get some of my building skills worked back up so i can start building a way to retire soon.i was taught by aj lee the finer tools of the trade but he has held over a few secrects i think. i will post pictures when i get back from tucson when i start it from a builders kit form.i have been building since i started in rc in 1963 so i do hold a fair bit of experience

Didn't think Calif actually had a "winter project" type season.
Glad someone will still buy a kit -before the concept is totally abandoned to the Chinese!
Please don't read me as being critical- just curious; why you would choose a project so easily picked off a website that is already to fly?
Personally I LOVE looking at The EXTRA 300 - Next best I think to your avatar!

Fla. really needs a WINTER BUILDING Season!
My partner in rc (for over 28 years) and I started two scratch built Hawker Hurricanes 4-5 years ago. Valley Aviation plans- retouched to actual scale. (No more effort to cut out two planes really.)

Now both craft are framed up in bare bones - we both spent $450.00 each for the coolest custom made 15o rotating retracts and another $65.00 for the scale wheels.
He gets divorced and looses our building space so the projects have sat for over two years now! Starting to look like they may dry rot on us now! Sad.
Building is such a totally different aspect to our hobby!
Good luck with it!
