car shopping is a pain

Well, after I totalled my Pimp ride,(lol '97 Honda Accord with plastic spinnas) I've been looking around for a new vehicle.

Apparently, nobody sells foreign cars around here. Now, with this being said, I like American cars, they look nice, but I want something that is reliable and something that I can put 300k-400k on without any problems.

So, I've been looking around for a Toyota Tachoma. Nobody sells them used around here! Now, granted, I've found a couple, but none that really fit what I'm looking for.

I drive A LOT, and gas mileage can be important, so a small truck with a 4 cylinder motor is perfect for me.

I might end up going back to a Honda Civic or Accord if I don't find much in the way of a Tachoma.

is there a carmax near you? that's where i got my civic a couple of years ago and they hooked me up. i even got a free remote ignition. they have a nationwide database, and they can ship from any of their dealers around the country. and just to let you know that while civics are an excellent car, the accord got some low ratings from consumer reports. oddly enough, the american car maker that's doing very well on reliability is chrysler. when japanese cars are taking over the market most american companies are looking to make fancier looking cars to attract customers while chrysler actually stepped back and said what can they do to make better cars rather than just better looking cars. since 2003 they have been getting better and better scores from consumer reports. with that said, i love my civic. it just limits the scale of the palne i can haul around with me. i was able to fit an inspire 60 with two small electrics. but that's about it.

Look into a Mazda 6S. They are sharp looking cars, mine gets great gas mileage, the ride is great, and just let me say the Bose sound system just plain kick. I've only has mine about a week, but am loving every minute of it.
