Should I go for it?

Guy's need help on a decision. I've never owned a gas plane. I fly large glow 28%. But a friend of mine has a Cap 232 new plane built by a pro. Has a new DA50 and Jr DS8411 servos. Only needs reciever, prop, misc. wiring, switches and batts. It has an 83" wing span so I'm not sure of what percent it is? 30% maybe? Anyway $1500 is the deal.. Oh it's all hinged too. Should I go for it or wait until next year and go larger? Here's the pic's of the plane..

| | Sounds like a sweet deal. But I would buy the girl in the background instead of the plane if I were you. ![]() |

| | What kit is it? You'll still have a couple hundred more in it by the time it is RTF.... unless you are honestly in love with the plane I would say to wait and get a 33% for your first. |

| | Well I pretty much have decided against the cap. It's a pretty plane, but I already hace a cap. Stasrting to lean towards QQ's 86" Yak or Aeroworks QB Yak. Any thoughts. Power will either be a DL50 or 3mm 53.. Any thoughts on the motor? |

| | I would. That's a nice plane and the ones I've flown fly very well when set up right. It may take some time but it'll fly pretty nice. |

| | Well I'm getting a deal on it I can't refuse, so it's a go. Will probably pick it up in a week. I did run by his house and it looks like all up weight should be 17-17.5lbs.. |

| | 17lb's??!?!? Isn't that a bit much for a 83 inch wingspan plane? |

| | So help me figure out this weight thing. I weighed the plane and wings. Total was 15Lbs. Everything was on the plane except Prop, 4 Servos, Batteries, Regulator and aileron linkage. So the more I think about it, I'm hoping to be just under 17lbs. Might need to look into a few carbon fiber mods. Like landing gear and wing tube. |

| | Go for it. I purchased a used cap 232 1/3 gas and love it.. You don't need glow starter, starter, windex, paper towels,ext...... Gas it up flip the prop and go. Gas is cheap too, well use to be cheap.... |
