| | SPE 43Is yours the older style with the exposed crank tail, or the new enclosed rear crankcase ? The older ones have some now known issues, the newer Cermark version is supposed to be updated and fixed, but I have not seen one. Many of the Melody ignition modules were DOA or died slowly causing frustration like mine did. Unless yours is the newer version and the ignition really is improved, C&H Ignitions is your friend, They will sell you a bolt on RCXcel ingition unit that will smooth the engine out considerably and allow a much lower idle. You might check the timing before spending money, they have been known to be way off. If yours is one of the older ones, Cermark says they will update it for $30, something to think about maybe... I would say that my experience is that my 71" Yak 54 was a nose heavy warbird with the 43 up front, but if you had a 50 in there.... Good luck ! |

| | How to get more range out of DX-7?I don't know if you'd be able to do it without runnign afoul of FCC regulations. And is it for an aircraft? At 5 miles, you're way out of visual range and there are plenty of rule and regs for flying autonomous vehicles or those using remote visual guidance. That said, boosting the power to the antenna feed and possible a larger antenna array might do the trick. |

| | Loss of PlaneThat sucks. Hopefully all of your equipment is undamaged so you can just buy a new airframe. You can get a good used airframe built by a reputable company for about the same price as the CMP. Chase |

| | A123 or li ion for receiver pk123's are tthe easiest to set up, no regs or powerboxes needed. i have 2 2300's on a carden 232 40% cap and a jr 922 receiver. the can supply 60c bursts if needed, and they chage in literally 10 minutes, don't get hot or warm much safer battery. i fly imac and 3d, no issues at all. i can get 7 10 minute flights before i need to even think about charging. brad |

| | carbon fiber landing gearI got my last CF gear this last spring from www.rcsupergear.com. It took months to get it and finally told them to cancel my order and refund my money after leaving several emails and voicemails. It suddenly showed up out of the blue with no ship notice or any explaination as to why it took so long. I think the gear is superior to Graphtec gear, but these guys now appear to be out of business (?) Don't know. |

| | carbon fiber landing gearGood subject. I would like to see someone with professional knowledge, talk on the subject of "Cabon Fiber Gears". The conventional method of cutting the gear out of a laminated, formed sheet of cabon fiber generaly failes due to delamination. Some time it does not take much of a hard landing to cause failure. Interestingly, Extreme Flight uses what appears to be a molded carbon fiber gear which has proved to be very strong. The molded gear appears to be bonded on the leading and trailing edge which I beleive makes it much less prone to delaminate. Problem is, I don't know of anyone producing them other than Extreme Flight for their own airplanes. |
