How to get more range out of DX-7?

Posted 11-03-2009 at 08:45 PM by frankenstine
I was curious on how to get more range out of my DX-7. I think that right now I can go one mile. I want to be able to go at least five miles. Dose anyone know how to expand the tx signal?

I don't know if you'd be able to do it without runnign afoul of FCC regulations. And is it for an aircraft? At 5 miles, you're way out of visual range and there are plenty of rule and regs for flying autonomous vehicles or those using remote visual guidance.
That said, boosting the power to the antenna feed and possible a larger antenna array might do the trick.
