Good subject. I would like to see someone with professional knowledge, talk on the subject of "Cabon Fiber Gears".
The conventional method of cutting the gear out of a laminated, formed sheet of cabon fiber generaly failes due to delamination. Some time it does not take much of a hard landing to cause failure.
Interestingly, Extreme Flight uses what appears to be a molded carbon fiber gear which has proved to be very strong. The molded gear appears to be bonded on the leading and trailing edge which I beleive makes it much less prone to delaminate. Problem is, I don't know of anyone producing them other than Extreme Flight for their own airplanes.

I got my last CF gear this last spring from www.rcsupergear.com. It took months to get it and finally told them to cancel my order and refund my money after leaving several emails and voicemails. It suddenly showed up out of the blue with no ship notice or any explaination as to why it took so long.

I think the gear is superior to Graphtec gear, but these guys now appear to be out of business (?) Don't know.
