People on other forums has noticed what appears to be edited pictures of the 12/14MZ modules...The area in question is the bottom of the module, where a pigtail can be seen here...(excuse the blank area, scroll down for more) Pigtail shadow, but no pigtail... The "official" picture from Horizon shows no pigtail... The suspicion is that the module is getting it's information from the trainer port, and this is not being accurately representeted. I'd like the Spectrum reps to comment on the apparent editing of the pictures of the 12/14MZ module. I'd accept that these pictures are of a protoype that didn't make the final cut. However, Horizon is accepting pre-orders for a stated late April delievery. Is that module going to have a 2nd cord like the pictures suggest, or have they eliminated it? Smart Dudes, How much better is the RF link on the R9000 vice the R7000? I want to set up a 40%er and a 35%er and I can map out the servos to one R9000 and one R7000 in each plane while leaving at least 3 ports per RX for battery or reg input. I don't use Y's. If the R9000 is really XX% better I'll probably just get 4 of those. |

Last word I had was that the this may not be a final version. True they jumped the gun in all probability, and it would have been better just to fess up, but there it is. So cable, no cable, we will all have to decide if the solution works for us. And again, these are ALL interim steps. In a very short time I think we will see all radios as SS and will look at this the way I do at the CD to cassette adapter I used to have in my cars. Now I use MP3!! But for now we will have to be happy with RETROFITTING our current transmitters if we want to take advantage of SS on them.

Gents, FG's stance on these photos is somewhat the same as Rob's - who knows when these photos were taken in the product development cycle, or by who. It is my understanding that there were only a small handfull of these prototypes in the states specifically for testing. I'm not convinced that these pics are shopped, but even if they are, what we could be seeing are debug/diagnostic ports, or a number of other possibilities. Heck, it might even be a trainer cable. Bottom line is this -I can assure you that there is no conspiracy here, or SpektrumGate occuring. If Horizon finds that this is the best way to gain the best performance for MZ modules, then good for us consumers. If it is revealed later on that the modules require additional data from the DSC, and you already placed an order and do not like the setup, I have no doubt that Horizon will allow you to cancel your order right quick. In the meantime, let's forgoe any unnecessary drama in regarding this topic. Thanks dudes. MD

Bummer. I wanted a good conspiracy theory to keep things lively. Are you sure that the devious Paul Beard and those scallywags at Horizon didn't do the Photoshop thing from behind the fence on top of the Grassy Knoll while filming a phoney moon landing in a studio in Los Angeles?? Can you PROVE IT??? Well, can you???

Here is some info for everyone with a MZ. I was at the WRAM Show today, and spoke with the gentlemen from team Futaba regarding this info. They advised with that with the 12 and 14 the module doesn't work like the rest of them. The actual parts controlling frequency is all internal. They also wouldn't comment on upcoming radio changes, but they did say that they don't plan on out dating all the MZ radios. So myself I am going to wait and see what the Toledo show brings. I believe that Horizon jumped the gun on this wanting to get everyone to jump on their wagon first. |

This advancement is great but it's starting to look like computers. You get the latest release and a few months later something much better is available. I'm having a hard time deciding when to pull the trigger. I hate to upgrade 3 or 4 planes with Spektrum receivers only to find out JR has a new high end transmitter that only works with JR SS receivers. I wish we knew what else was right around the corner....

Hi All, I have been reading/Following Flying Giants For awhile now ... it is the very least to say you guys are just Awesome A big Thank you !I noticed in a previous post Andy asked a good Question about having two Receivers / Bat's on a 40%'er ,,, My question is having a similar setup 2 bat's 2 receivers, how much current can AR9000 handle ? Another reason for having two receivers was to split the Current load. ( not uncommon to have two 4000mAH batteries) Of course their is the " Power Expander/Emcotec/Duralite " Route but I like the KISS method... I'd put my cash down in a flash for two AR9000's , Imagine 2X Ar9000 with added Satellite rx's = total 8 Rx's i'd feel safe !Thank You Spectrum !!! Guglielmo Teoli ( Elmo ) |
