Kiwi, I fully agree that resolution is a non issue. But as you said the latency of G3 is less than PPM and outstanding in that way. No way I am going to get a module that uses PPM for internal communication between the module and the transmitter. If this is the case, I think Futaba took the easy road and screwed the 12/14 users in the process. Edit: But peace out! Let's hear it from the source before jumping to conclusions....

If PPM is faster anyway then PCM, and with 2.4ghz you don't have the concern of getting shot down, then where is the problem? | ||||||||||||||||||

Tor, I think we are flogging a dead horse here. The modules for the 12 and 14 are 2.4 Ghz and 2048. Wheres the easy road and how does that screw the 14 and 12 owners out here. Guys you dont need to send your radio in for any modifications. These modules are plug and play. I suppose there might be a software upgrade to tell the radio your on 2.4 but I dont know that for sure. And of course you will still have your 72Mhz modules and rx's for those other planes in the hanger. Its a win win situation. I dont see anyway anyones getting screwed here, quite the opposite in fact. Kiwi |

Awefully strong language on something you have no personal knowledge of! It was stated by Frank Noll Jr who would have personal knowledge "When using the 12Z & 14MZ modules the processing speed will be equal to the current systems. You can figure everything that the 12 & 14 does now, will continue with the 2.4 FASST modules." Futaba has more than done right by the consumer by not just launching a new 12FG 2.4, but also supporting past customers with an easy upgrade for their present equipment. As my Dad would say, "I think you need to cool your jets".

I don't want to jump to conclusions, as I edited and wrote in my previous post. Let's see what Futaba says.

Would it be possible to have an old FM module out of say a 9CAP and revert the 12 back to FM when not flying with a 2.4 RX? Jeff www.CommonSenseRC.com |
