| Resident TrainWreck | No bullshido here folks! Major pre-Toledo release! Remember where you heard it first folks. Today Futaba releases a killer new radio system designed from the bottom up, chalk full of 2.4 Gigahertz technology! Introducing the all new 12FG 2.4 FASST system! Boasting 2048 G3 resolution coupled with the uber fast transmission speeds of 2.4Ghz, helicopter and airplane programmability, 8 flight conditions, piles of mixing capabilities, and all the fixin’s, this radio looks like it’s going to be a hit! Futaba’s release of this system marks a historic release of the first major “high end” 2.4Ghz transmitter system. You all know that we’ve been fanatically following this technology, and we’re giddy with excitement about these new systems. And on a side not, we here at FlyingGiants could not have thought of a better name! And that’s only the half of it! Today Futaba also jumps into the legacy 72mhz conversion scene the release of a PILE of transmitter modules for existing transmitters! Wow!!! Pilots and owners of legacy Futaba 72Mhz systems can now enjoy the flexibility of converting their current systems to 2.4ghz. The new modules are designed by Futaba, for Futaba, and will work with 7U, 8U, 9C, 9Z, 12mz and get this… natively with the 14MZ directly without, trainer port connections. This is pretty cool, and will provide the ultimate migration path for Futaba systems and modelers who wish to make the transition. A full line of receivers have been announced as well that will fully compliment all types of aircraft. 7, 8 and full 14 channel 2.4 capabilities are now a reality. Foamy, glow, gasser’s, and high end turbine jet pilots now have the flexibility to “toss the pin”, and utilize 2.4 technology. Complete product specifications for all of these exciting products are listed below. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – this is a VERY exciting time to be a modeler folks! From FlyingGiants’s perspective, we’re stoked to see the big guys provide killer products like the ones we’re seeing released today, and this is only the tip of the iceberg. Big props to Hobbico and Futaba for jumping into the two four scene with such force. I’m simply giddy with excitement to see what 2007 has in store! The system will be available to grope at the 2007 Weak Signals convention in Toledo next week, be sure to stop by the Hobbico Futaba booth to see the goods. Also, don’t miss The FlyingGiants complete Toledo Convention Coverage! “72 Hours In Toledo” begins on Thursday, 4/12/07. We’re gonna knock your socks off! | Resident TrainWreck | Full Product Specifications: Official Futaba Press Release ***Futaba FASST™ Module / Receiver Sets for 2.4GHz*** More 2.4GHz breakthroughs from Futaba! If it’s from Futaba, you know it’s done right — the first time! 2.4GHz systems are the hottest category in R/C, and Futaba is once again at the forefront with three new module/receiver sets. These modules are designed to work with existing Futaba radios, so your customers can simply plug them in and start enjoying all of the benefits that spread spectrum technology has to offer, without having to invest in a new transmitter! No other manufacturer understands 2.4GHz as well as Futaba, who has the experience and expertise to develop hobby-specific components that are unmatched in performance and reliability. The advantages of FASSTTM Futaba 2.4GHz systems: Constant Channel Shifting Other 2.4GHz systems hold firm to one or two frequencies, increasing the potential for interference. The frequency of Futaba 2.4GHz FASST systems shift every 2 milliseconds, so there are no signal conflicts or interruptions — and no need for a frequency pin! Pre-VisionTM Packet Screening Technology 2.4GHz FASST scans incoming data and applies sophisticated error correction techniques — resulting in a system that gives you a solid, impenetrable connection with your model. Dual Antenna Diversity (DAD) Futaba 2.4GHz FASST systems seamlessly select the best reception between two receiver antennas, so there’s no loss of signal. (R603FF receiver included with 3PM 2.4GHz does not offer DAD.) 100x Faster Antenna Switching If the receiver notices a problem with the data coming into one antenna, it rapidly switches to the other, looking for the sharpest signal. *Comparing the R606FS receiver to the AR6000 receiver. Custom-Developed IC Chips Futaba uses custom IC chips that have been designed specifically for radio-control — ensuring quality, reliability, and safety. This is why Futaba FASST systems are faster and more reliable than the competition. Compact, “all-in-one” receivers Futaba’s small, powerful 2.4GHz FASST R606FS and R607FS receivers for flight systems can control giant-scale models as easily as park flyers and weigh a scant 7 grams without case. Full-range systems from other manufacturers include a bigger, two-piece receiver, and you must purchase a smaller park flyer receiver separately. Over 2x Less Minimum Latency Latency is the elapsed time between your movement of the transmitter controls and servo response. In Futaba 2.4GHz FASST systems, that response can happen over twice as fast — so you feel less like you’re “out in front” leading your model, and more like you’re inside driving or flying it. *When comparing the 6EX FASST system to the DX7. Easy Link TM Futaba 2.4GHz FASST systems leave the factory already linked to the receiver code. Once linked the receiver will recognize and respond ONLY to that transmitter. Binding more receivers is not a problem — the linking process is simple...just push a button on the receiver. Features: New design for cleaner, safer, and secure installation – Unlike other modules, Futaba’s FASST System modules don’t have external wires that can get in the way of the transmitter, or possibly get pulled out or disconnected. One-piece receiver – for easier installation – The R606FS and R607FS are small enough to use with park flyers, but powerful enough to easily control giant-scale planes, Futaba’s line of 2.4GHz receivers is truly state of the art. In addition to not requiring a second receiver for park flyers, Futaba’s receivers boast higher sensitivity for less unwanted interference. Quick and easy to use - No need to screw or clamp pieces to the Futaba units. Simply plug them in and fly! Works with existing Futaba radios – TM-7: 7-Channel Module and R607FS 7-Channel Receiver Designed for the Futaba 9C radio, but also works with the 8U, 7U, and 9Z. TM-8: 8-Channel Module and R608FS 8-Channel Receiver Works with the 9C and 9Z systems, as well as 8U and 7U. TM-14: 14-Channel Module and R6014FS 14-Channel Receiver Fits the 14MZ, 12Z, and the NEW 12FG radio. *Capable of using all 14 channels with Futaba Module/Receiver set 7-Channel Spread Spectrum In stock: Late Spring R607FS 7CH Receiver FUTL7637 TM-7 Module FUTL8927 TM-7 w/ R607FS Receiver FUTL8950 8-Channel Spread Spectrum In stock: Early Summer R608FS 8CH Receiver FUTL7638 TM-8 Module FUTL8928 TM-8 w/ R608FS Receiver FUTL8952 14-Channel Spread Spectrum In stock: Early Summer R6014FS 14CH Receiver FUTL7644 TM-14 Module FUTL8934 TM-14 w/R6014FS Receiver FUTL8956 ***Futaba 12FG 2.4GHz FASST™ Radio System*** Taking twelve-channel control to a new level! Futaba’s new 12FG radio combines the unmatched precision of 2048 resolution with the groundbreaking advantages of Futaba’s proven FASST 2.4GHz system. This is the radio for discerning R/C pilots who insist on state-of-the-art features and functions for the most precise control imaginable. And because it’s from Futaba, you can sell it with confidence knowing that the industry’s finest research and development has gone into it – making it a real value for you and your customers!
