I really hope that they will let some of us send in our old 9303's so that we can get an update. I imagine that is not possible though because of the many hardware changes that might have taken place inside the radio. The one thing that pissed me off really really badly was looking at the screen on the 9303 in that new red background picture.....THE TIMER WAS WAAAYY BIGGER THAN ON THE OLD 9303's. I hate looking down at my transmitter and trying to check the time on my flight. I bet there are alot of subtle improvements like that in the new DOS on the new 9303's I wish JR would let us send them in to reformat the operating system of the radio so that we could get that bigger timer, I need that.....well not really. |

Does anyone know if the new 12x will be able to be updated? Will it have the flight condition options that Futaba offers (ie flight conditions that are enabled by the stick position, the guys flying Futaba over here in Australia have really got their snaps sorted out with the Futaba 12's and 14's.)

Snaps are in the thumbs, not the radio. Anyone using a snap button out there??

No they dont use a snap button my friend, the snap is still flown with the thumbs, however dependant on the throttle position when full rudder is deflected the aileron and elevator throws are optimised for that instant, ie less rudder, less elevator and more aileron at full throttle for vertical snaps, more elevator and rudder for low throttle ie downline snaps and a mid throttle snap rate as well. I am not really certain exactly what is mixed to what in the radios as I fly a JR 10x, however I have a flown a model set up to snap this way (futaba ninja snaps) and it is brilliant, you still need to unload and fly the snap correctly, but especially for vertical upline snaps it reduces the chance of bogging the model down. I too believe you should be flying the snaps with your thumbs, however with all the snaps in advanced and unlimited any option which is allowed in competition and will help the consistency of my snaps I am interested using.

Just an addition, its a bit like changing rates for different manouvres with a switch, without having to flick the switch, I was a bit dubious on how well it would work when first told about the idea, but having flown a model set up this way, if your not of TOC level ability, this will give you an edge over the competition, particuarly in Advanced and Unlimited.

I believe you can do this on a 10X with some intricate programming. I know guys who do this with their Futaba systems and as Not Benny says, its a great way of doing it. |

You can do it to some extent on the 10x but not nearly as neatly or with as many options. These guys have different rates set depending on if the snap is negative, positive upline, downline or straight and level. Having said that the trigger must be elevator if they are changing rates dependant on positive and negative. Like I said sounds complex, but it does work and contrary to what I initially thought dosnt affect the way the model flies the rest of the sequence.
