| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | If you are just trying to see when the people that are switching to 2.4Ghz are switching over, then your poll is perfect. That is exactly what your poll will tell you, but if you are trying to see how many are switching over vs. how many are not, your poll is way off. Jim |

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | The 2.4Ghz systems designed for use with giant scale planes recommend the use of 4 rx's. Why is that? We don't want to turn this into argueing over which system is best though. That's already been done. I would ask that MadMax clarify if he is wanting to know when the people that are going to switch over are doing so, or if he wants to know how many are switching to 2.4Ghz vs. how many are not. If it's the latter, he needs to fix the poll. Jim |

| Drag a knee!! ![]() | I am in the process of making a change as well, but not to 2.4mhz. I'll be going to 50mhz! With more and more people changing to 2.4mhz the problem of freq conflicts will be less and less, so thats good news for the 72meg guys. But I want to avoid the random noob that shows up to the field and fires up his garage sale 72mhz radio and shoots down the 40% that is 4 ft off the deck. I figure the 50mhz band will be the safest route, and with less and less people getting the ham license, it should be very easy to have a open channel when I want to fly. I'm sure that the 2.4mhz will be sorted out soon and problems will be resolved, and perhaps someday I will drink the coolaid, but for now I'll be livin' on 50meg. BK KD6IQZ |

| Flyin' Around ![]() | I am not against changing, but still going want to give it some more time to develop. Since most days I'm the only one at the field, frequency problems are not an issue. I like the stubby antenna, the data logger, and the idea we are starting to see better designs in receivers. I just want to give it a little more time to futher develop before spending money. I really don't need the latest and greatest, but you have to love flying with no worry of frequency conflicts. I still remember when you bought radios with three normal servos and one reversed servo. So no vote for me since there is not a choice for curently staying with 72mhz. But its hard not to click the choice may change this year. Last edited by texasporty : 03-11-2008 at 10:07 AM. |

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | I'm in the process of a 2nd change over. I tried Spektrum last year it worked great in my small electrics. Then I got a 12Z for my large planes and over the winter sold off my Spectrum stuff. For this season I have a TM-14 and 617/6014 Rx's. I'm in the process of changing over. All my smaller electrics are converted and my larger planes will be converting soon as I get more comfortable. So far FASST has been rock solid for me. The two biggest benefits for me have been not having issues with RF noise in my gassers and not having to worry about the pin or being shot down. Where I fly we don't often get conflicts for a frequency - but I will feel safer flying my 40% knowing someone on 72 can't accidentally shoot me down. Where it really pays off is at contests and fun flys where there are TONS of radios around and you just don't know for sure... I never liked to fly my really nice stuff at fun flys - now I can. I will say that the transition has not been seamless... I had some equipment failures along the way... and there are some idiosyncrasies ... but all-in-all I think it is a change for the better. Not a cheap change though - so I hope 2.4 is here to stay for a LONG time! |

| Hey Ringo, play something hot! ![]() | I sold all of my 72 mhz stuff and now I'm down to one 2.4 XPS transmitter and receiver. Although I've never had a problem with either 72 or 2.4, I'm looking forward to Futaba's FASST offerings if they ever get here...in the 8 channel stuff..obviously. |

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | I only have my JR X9303 now. Never one single problem on 72mhz in the past and never been shot down, but close to. The sole purpose of my switching is so that no one will shoot me down. |
