You mean mainly Rob, since he's the one that never gets out of the air, plus the issue with only having 5 spektrum pins at the field, lol

We didn't have a choice but to change - my son and I fly at a field with lots of inexperienced fliers that raise fear of being shot down. FASST has fixed this concern and we no longer see the occasional glitch.

Plus - we were at Florida jets last weekend and totally enjoyed being able to turn on our transmitters whenever we want. The only downside now is the cost and equipment availability - we will convert only our big gassers and jets and continue with 72Mhz for our small glow and foamies.

Fully converted to JR X9303 2.4. They got me from Futaba when the free receiver deal came out. Just waiting for the 2 free ones now.

Hi all,
I have always flown 72mhz, I am setting up a 50% extra 260 with a Futaba 12fg that I put the FASST module and tm-14 reciever. I have always hated the small glitches that we all know about. Not having to worry about getting shot down seems to be a huge plus. I was thinking about the spectrum with the quad antenna setup, but then thought what good are four antennas when they are all controled by one reciever.

A quick question..... Are there any 2.4GHz modules available for the Futaba 9C Super, either from Futaba (FAAST) or Spektrum?

Over the winter I converted my Futaba 9Z with a Spektrum module and AR9000. Bought an AR7000 for my other plane. Haven't flown either yet...hope it all goes well. I'm looking forward to this setup for the 2008 season (and beyond). Still trying to find buyers for my 72 mHz receivers . I had them at a swap meet a month ago...nobody even looked at them!

Not switching anytime soon. Low use field and no issues with 72mHz yet. May go when we get to version 3.1a on the 2.4 Ghz stuff .

Thumbs down Re: The Race to 2.4, one year later. Time For a Poll!

Futaba 12Z is my favourite but the module stuff doesn't look like an inteligent solution to me. And Futaba didn't think about the CG of the 2.4 Transmitters not even on the new ones! So i will wait until Futaba brings out a real 2.4 Transmitter with 12Z abilities.

FASST is nice but Futaba did not produce any appealing Transmitter.

I am planning on switching to JR 9303, but the cost of the transition for all of my planes is going to be expensive. Like what has been said before, the technology is changing so fast. What is going to come out next month, the month after and so on. I may wait until one system is going to be in place for a few years.
