Redneck ingenuity abounds in this hobby, and here at FlyingGiants, we're always astonished at the killer contraptions that our members come up with! Let's think about this for a sec... One day someone looked at a McDonalds hamburger package, and said "hey, I can make an electric plane outta that stuff!". So was born the foamy. Someone figured out that we could rip batteries out of laptops and cell phones, and the electric revolution was born. And don't get me started on the holy grail of redneckedness; the Budlight beer can mufflers! This of course is from modern times, lest we forget the gift of the innovations and contributions our modeling forefathers brought to us. Today I found myself at my local electric field, Fairview Park in Costa Mesa California, and I am proud to report the West Coast Redneck movement is alive and well! In between flights on my Uzi XXL, I noticed a shiny thingamajig on the table that caught my eye. Check this gizmo out, and I ain't gonna tell ya what it is... This was designed by a good friend of modeling here in Socal, Mr. Pete R, or PGR here on FlyingGiants. Pete is a mad craftsman who's planes are always immaculate, he's always ready to lend a hand, and enjoys a good day at the field with the boys. Pete made me stare at this thing for about an hour before he let the cat out of the bag as to it's purpose. So I figured I'd do the same to each of ya! We'll post the answer later today. Thanks Pete! Oh yeah, spot Waldo, and we'll send you a big fat atta boy as well ![]() If you're convinced you know what it is, please don't be a spoiler ;-) Have a good one folks, and Happy Monday! best--- MD & The FlyingGiants Crew

I am not any kind of an electrical guru....but it looks like a solar powered battery charger or something...is that correct? I saw the power leads coming off of them poles , so i figured it was either taking power from the little flat things , or sending power to them.....but had no idea why you would charge something like that. I dunno.....but it looks like a really cool battery charger of some type.

My bet its a home made 2.4 Ghz Rf noise generator . It seems to have some set elements which are being held in place pretty tightly and they are all different lengths . The last thing I saw that looked like that was in a test lab at a very large telecommunications company . Thats the best guess I can come up with . Stu

Max, were you drinking and that is why you were staring at it for an hour? It looks like your vision was blurry in spots. Not fair to give a picture without giving us everything YOU could see. I am going to kick you at the Nall. So, why would he want a solar powered hot knife strip cutter anyway? Or maybe it is a defibrillator for shocking mice back to life....
