SWEET!!!!!! This year is going to be a Blast! I've been trying to bait Fred Midget from HigherPlanes into doing one of his "FilmFestivals" on Sat evening.

After many years of trying...I'm going to make it down to the Shootout! YES!!! However, I have been wanting to make it down for the killer RC flying, not so much to do a show. That said, Dave Johnson and I have been trying for the last few years to make this work. We both feel that the addition of a full scale aerobatic demo will be the icing on the cake so to speak. I'm really excited about coming down and being a part of this world class event. (seeing as I'll never be invited for my less than great RC skills)
I plan on doing a demo in the CAP 580 Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please understand though, Dave and the crew at the Shootout, as well as me understand that we are all there for the RC flying. The best of the best. The latest and the greatest of who;s who in the RC world. Dave was very concerned that my demo was on time, short, and not interupt the flow of competition. So, underdstanding this, I promise a fast paced, kick as@ demo. If you haven't seen my performance before, I hope you enjoy it. If you have, I hope you're looking forward to seeing it again. I really appreciate the invite and the time given to me to 'show off' for a few minutes. Thank you for everyones time and efforts to make this happen and taking a break from the business at hand. TO WIN THE SHOOTOUT!!!
Also, a huge thankyou to Dave and the crew at Desert Aircraft and my friends at Greatplanes/Futaba for their support of my show.

ps...the FAA approval is still pending as of 10/1/08, however, they have been doing their best to get the waiver through in time for the event. Right now, 90% chance of this working out....It better...the CAP 580 leaves Thursday! The two inspectors at the FAA have been busting their butts working on this, as has Brian Howard.... the effort is huge and much appreciated. Fingers crossed. Best guess...plan on some prop noise come noon Friday!
