Dear All, I converted our 69” Yak-54 to electric. Our 69” proved to be an outstanding performer on glow. Light wing loading, Very precise, Wild in 3D and extremely powerful with our recommended engine choices. We thought we give the electric conversion a try also. I will provide you with many pictures later this weekend but let me first thank my friend Brett Bayless for his help on motor, speed controller and battery installation. This was my first electric conversion and without his help I would’ve had to spend much more time as there is a learning curve when you go electric. Here are the components that I used for this project. E-Flite Power 110 Motor Phoenix HV85 speed controller JR 8411SA (2) 4S 5350 Green FlitePower Pack APC 17x8,17x10,18x8,18x10,19x8,19x10 Best proved to be ….. I will tell you later as I get into more details. EP motor mount from H9 (HAN4245) This project took a lot of time because I did a lot experiment with different prop selections and having one battery set was brutal but good news is you don't have to go through this on yours This will be good. Stay tuned! Reza |

| Hi Reza - Here are a couple of pics of my Yak. I am really looking forward to read and see your review and movie. The only difference between mine and yours appears to be the batteries, as I use A123 cells (10s2p). So mine probably weighs a pound more than yours. This is still one of the best flying airplanes I have ever flown. Regards, Ren |

Ren, Are you using 10S on Eflite Power 110? How do you like the power and how many minutes do you get? Can you post a picture of battery placement? Thanks a lot, Reza |

Reza, The plane looks great. Now that you have the perfect electric plane for it, I expect to see you at one of our EMAC events at the Sea World electric field this year! -STEVE- |

Reza, 69" is the perfect size to fly EMAC with. It is not like IMAC where most planes are 35% to 40%. Yes we fly the regular IMAC known sequences for Basic, Sportsman, and Intermediate, plus we have a noon time freestyle. The events start at 10:am, and we are normally done by 3:00pm, so it is an easy one day event to attend. The drive is not far from Ranch Santa Margarita,. Just get on 5 South and exit at Sea World. I couldn't find on your equipment list what size batteries you are flying, but I probably have extras that will work for you. Besides, there will normally be time to re-charge between flights. We'd really like to have both you and Brett down to fly. The Szuebers, and a bunch of the Riverside guys usually come. I just saw your battery setup, sorry. It should be no problem to power you with 8S or 10S setups. In fact, if you want to come down and do your testing one day, you could fly continiously with the batteries we have available. I thing we have 5 pairs of 4S setups, and 6 pair of 10S setups you could use. |

| Hey Reza - Yes. I am using (20) 10s2p A123 cells to power my Yak. So that is like a 9s, 4600 mah lipo. The performance is AWESOME. Getting these packs to fit were a bit of a challenge. There are two 10s packs connected in parallel. I had to construct a small platform for one of the packs. It is mounted on end, and is velcro'ed and strapped to the upright. I have to remove the cowl to remove the forward pack, but since I am using A123's I can charge inside the plane. I am getting 7+ minute 3D flights, and I have not used more that 3000 mah, on a 18x10 prop. (BTW, it only takes 10 minutes to fully charge in between flights) There are a couple of pics attached. Ren
