text smushed together

whenever i type, and hit return to go to another line, it just smushes it all together. ie all one paragraph. ie right here i will hit return to go to another line.see its all one paragraph, ill hit return again.same thing....happens on all my posts.... yet i can see not to others.
here is another example each name/reply was a seperate line with a space inbetween HELP! Servos on a Budget?

Don't hit return, just type your text and the words will auto wrap when you submit your post...

no i want spaces. see how you hit return and had your name at the bottom i cant do that. look ill try, ill hit return here

it worked!

now ill have to try it on my work computer thats where it happens.
also when i edit my post (when its doing that smush) it has <p> around the text begining and end, could that be what the problem is? like paragraph format or something? it doesn have that here, and the return button is working, but ill bet at work it will have that <p> around the text when i go edit it, and return will not work.....

ok now im at work, lemme try it on this computer, this is where i had the problem. ok im gonna hit enter now.i wonder if it will work....edit: now this sucks what the hell is going on enter does not work, and sure enought those little < p > tags are back, i think thats the problem. how do i keep it from automatically puting them there?

No sweat, also drove me crazy that I couldn't get paragraph breaks on this site. I was adding the <p> and <b> stuff by hand there for a while, then read someplace that the WYSIWYG editor mode was the problem.

Still can't get the animation on smilies or stuff to work on the home machine, but I think it's an IE 7 problem (and really, thanks to all the guys who always pop in to suggest I use Firefox or some other stuff, but I just ain't all that torn up about it).
