the doors are operated by a servo. or if someone with more brain cells than me could figure out a mechanism that is connected to the bomb drum that opens and closes the door everytime a bomb is about to drop.

as for the carrier it is a simple motor conected to the drum axle which rotates it.

the drum will have to rotate as much as the pilot wants. Just by fliping a switch or somehow connecting a switch to the motor that would have to be activated by the servo opening the doors.

LMHO Keep in mind that when you get into the realm of things like dropping bombs the patents involved would be classified so you couldn't find them. All heavy bombers use rotary launchers in some form or another. You can use a straight push by a servo arm to index the carrier but 8 positions would be better then 4 in that case.

No need to open the doors with servos. Use a cam on the drum, and a follower on the doors. When the drum is rotated the followers will follow the cam lobe to the open position (timed moment) and light spring pressure can close them. Use a sail servo to rotate the drum. You could use the dial of a computer radio to index the drum to specified degrees, ie. open or closed position. Bombs can be released by gravity(doors open).

for the rotation movement of the drum "bomb rack", you could use a pawl mechanism similar to how the cylinder in a revolver works (see Samual Colt's 1873 patent, for his pistol). Your CAD drawing is pretty cool, too. The key to this thing's market potential, in my opinion, will be its size, weight and what it drops. Personally, paint balls would be cool for a precision "bomb" drop.

If anybody really wants to build this i can post my solid edge drawings, three views, Isometry drawings and dimensions. i have to tell you they are not that good and if anybodys does want to build it then you may have to do a lot of custimization on how to connect the bomb drum to the outer case, and how to conect the motors and electronics to make the thing work. but these pictures, and dimensions still show the general idea and size of this mechanism.
