Hey! Rcu Is Cool Now!!!

You can rant on about how you can post "anything you want" on this site but that is only true if "anything you want" is not to far out of line with what the owners want. That holds true for any site so don't go brainwashing yourself into thinking otherwise.

As far as this site being "cool" and other RC sites being not "cool" you might want to step back a second and get some perspective. You can have the whole made up language of the Cirkus and say stuff like "huck it" and "50 grit" if that makes you feel cool but my friends and I laugh at all you guys who are so into it. Now for the real perspective, while my friends and I are laughing at you guys with all the Cirkus style lingo and attitude the rest of the world is wondering why a bunch of nerds (me and my friends included) flying model toys are thinking they are cool to begin with. Fact is you can dress it up with your attitude and adolescent banter but we are all a bunch of RC geeks and nerds playing and argueing about our toys.

Now I know after 18 months in the hobby you are probably already huckin it down low and badass and have a lot of perspective on the hobby in general (or at least think you) do but I see things a little differant. The hobby has been around a lot longer than any of these websites and will still be around as they come and go.

Good points....and personal differences aside, we the "community" lost a lot of good info in all those posts and videos etc. I was just starting to use FC as more of a resource like I have with RCU. RCU has been around a while and for that reason alone, you can usually answer a question be doing a search. FC was beginning to be the same type of resource and now we are starting over....for whatever reason.

I think we're taking the nexstar statement a little too seriously, we don't need to be the PC police. I'll bet dollars to donughts that Choppedlow would be happy to help out someone who showed up at his field with a trainer.

I make comments like that in jest also, but am always willing to give up my flight time to help a newbie with their airplane. After all, without new blood the hobby dies. I think we need to lighten up a bit.
