Guys, I ve done lost the info on the plastic panel bearings to tighten up the C-ARF elevators and rudder. Can someone please post the link to McMaster Carr so I can get some more. I fit these to every C-ARF bird I have and I swear they make the plane so much more precise and no chance of flutter as well. Trust someone remembers the brass tube and plastic bearing fix. Much appreciated guys. Kiwi |

Just make sure you harden the enlarged holes made in the phenolic hinge elements. The bearings start wearing the phenolic and you end up with slop again. Make sure to run thin CA on the enlarged openings and check it frequently.

Kevin. Thats what I was looking for. I have nine bearings left in my plastic bag and you know that it takes ten to do the elevators. I use brass rod for the elevator and carbon for the rudder. I have hundreds of flights on the SX and so far not a pooftenth of wear on anything. Great idea using the CA to harden the hole. Again thanks a ton Kevin. I will try to get Max to put your post in the techy info file so its there for ever and a day. Kiwi Last edited by Kiwi; 04-22-2006 at 05:45 PM. |
