Just wanted to let you all know that I built an AW260 35% with a ZDZ Super 80 on front for power. I did the maiden today went great. flies awesome, has alot of power for just starting, have three tank fulls of gas through it. the plane came in at 25.4 pounds empty. and is nose heavy right now, didnt have to ad any weight to it either. one click of right aileron and three of up elev cause of being nose heavy. didnt do to much vertical cause of being new, but has plenty now and probably will get better. stock muffler and a bolly 26X10 did 6430 rpm running rich. cant wait to fly it again this plane's going to rock not much of a 3D pilot but i am sure it will do it just fine. i am pleased with this plane. By AW I assume you mean Aeroworks? 25.4 sounds about right...

I would imagine it would be a little light in the front with a ZDZ 80? A 35% extra could be running a 100cc engine of some type on it. What made you decide to go with an 80? And hows the verticle with an 80 anyways? I was planning on getting a 35% 260 this summer also , but slapping in my BME 115 (when i get it!) , but i'll have to remove it from my yak. I think the 260 has a 98" wingspan right? My AM yak has a 95". hhhmmm.........maybe that 80 would fly it pretty good if it only comes in at 25lbs. JEFF |

It is a 104" wingspan. The ZDZ weighs about the same as a BME 110, after adding mufflers and such. Mine balanced fairly easy with the 110, so I am sure his balanced a little easier, since the balsa used on the later production models is lighter, which means his tailfeathers are lighter.
