Today I was just flying my extra 260 and it was doing alright and on a pass my friend and I suddenly hear a BOOM and we saw something fall then I brought it in for a landing. We thought it might of been the wheel pant or the spinner but we found out it was the muffler and we couldn't believe it. The engine was a GF45I.

It is not much of A story. It was just cool how we saw something drop from the plane and here a boom from the muffler hitting the ground. Surprisingly the engine wasnt much louder. The weld had no penetration on the wrap around section of the motor and just cracked.
