At the current exchange rate, that would be over 7,300 rea$ons not to get that turboprop. That is a mighty high price to pay for "cool factor." (not to mention a whole suite of specialized support equipment)

How you gonna finish off the Mustang? Detailed scale or sport scale warbird, or Reno racer? Getting started on it soon?

I see that Troybuilt is coming out with a DA85 sized P40 as well. 20lbs. Supposed to be able to torque roll it. That will raise a few eyebrows at a warbird meet.

Kent,

I started working on my Yak. One of the first things I need to do is repaint the wings. Andreas did what I asked him to do for a scheme, but now that I see it live it looks horrible.

Can you share a little painting experience?

**What do you use to tape off lines?
**Do you pull the tape immediately after you shoot the paint, or do you let it dry and then lift?
**What do you use for a buffing compound?

I'm going to use the Comp-ARF single stage paint, since I already have it and it matches. I'm going to shoot it, then wet sand to 1500 and buff & wax it. A friend of mine did that on an old plane of mine, and it came out looking great. I just need to know what to use for buffing.

Thanks for your help.

Pete

Hey, we all want to see a picture of your ugly plane. We've already seen ugly girlfriend pictures, how bad can an ugly plane picture be!

Sorry, the wings are already sanded with 600 and taped off for paint. The fuse looks good in person (IMO) but the wings were just too much for me. See my avatar? It sorta looks like that.

Shoot, that aint so bad.

I was just trying to think what was the ugliest airplane I've ever seen (in person) and I believe it was probably a Senior Telemaster that a guy built out of cardboard. He tried painting it with green metallic paint, and the cardboard kept soaking up the paint until it had about 3 pounds of paint. You could still see the brown cardboard through the green metal flake. Looked like Popeye puked his can of spinach all over it.

I know this thing doesn't really qualify as a huckster. but MAN! Was it FUN!!!

First flight, a few clicks of trim and it flew as if on rails. Not affected by the wind at all. In fact, with a steady breeze... it would hover! (w/o rudder, it was a battle, but it would just hang in one spot and bounce around a bit) After scaring myself momentarily with the high rates/high expo, I got the hang of it and managed to pull off some pretty crazy maneuvers - cobras, flips, 1080 degree snaps per second.

Joe Manno (very competent 3D/pattern pilot) flew it a bit and loved it. He did miss having rudder though.

I really felt as though I needed a challenging stepping stone to the Fliton Icon Big Jerry gifted me. This is it! The CC25 and the 2100mah LiPos that came with the Icon are living the wild life in the Sukoi for now.

Ty, I installed the instrument panel. Thanks for the template... Now I have a chance to take the Edge flyin', plastic plane cuttin', wood butcher.

you forgot Ole Dawg. Lets see some pics of the panel. I guess I'll have to put a pilot in the Edge then. I have a Pattie Wagbag bust. What you fellas think ?

I can't get a pick, but it's doesn't look great. I velcroed a panel to the back of the tank. The pilot may have to take his eyes off the sky, but it'll meet specs..
