yeah i got one on monday. All i got to do is put a new batt tray in and put the new receiver in. Still glad we found that danm thing. was still so worth it. I swear that tail touched in that wall

2 days. were heading out friday morning. Took the day off work and everything. Come on guys pipe up. Whos gonna be there?

well all you bums listen here. I drove about 750kms to be at this huckfest this weekend. guess what. i get there and the gates locked and its almost dark. So me and riverdance hop the fence and setup tent before it gets dark and we cant see anything. alright thats all fine and dandy so no one was there on friday night. we bared the cold and slept on the hard ground no big deal. So we wake up at about 9 and o guess what nobody is there still. Alright so we start cooking breakfast adn this dude shows up. We ask him so you must be shawn. Nope im fred i dunno where shawn is. So watever we bull**** with this dude for a while hes pretty cool got some 3d insterest and some decent skillz from what i had seen. So finally at about 11:30 shawn shows up bareing a funtana with no prop. Says he biffed it the night before and was waiting for a new one. OK so its getting kinda windy and i decide to go up with the yak. I get up there and man the wind just starts howling. Im talking like never before seen in edmonton winds a perfect 90 degrees to the runway. So i keep on flying anyway start torking and rolling harriers but man that wind is just making this all a bare by the time i do 3 tork rolls im 300 yards out. so i decide this is to windy for me and i want to bring her down. Not only have i not faced winds this feirce but crosswind to boot and a 20 foot wide paved runway. Home has a nice big grass runway. so anyway this is a new dilema for me. So after about 3 attempts i finally get this thing to come down with not damage done. But ok now im kinda shaken that was a interesting experience but no harm done. So we bull**** for a while. The only one else willing to put anything else up is fred with a profile. I mean thats cool fly wat you want. But the host shawn here doesnt even pull his plane out. No offense shawn but its your own fun fly make some effort please. So we watch the windsock sit straight out till about 2 oclock and were getting kinda bored. No ones showing up and im not looking to put my yak up in a hurricane. So we decide were gonna bale off and make the calgary for some evening flying there and red deer in the morning. Now if it wasnt for the red deer flights on a buddies double vision and my yak id be really pissed. But the weekend i was looking most forward to all year was a bit of a bust. 1500 kms traveled. 150+ dollars in gas and about 15 hours of driving makes for a grumpy me. I dont mean to dump this on anyone but it was kinda a lame weekend exept for this morning where i got to fly off of a sod farm. So lets here the exuses guys. We made the effort why couldnt anyone else.

Yuo were better off to drive up to Grande Prairie from Edmonton 435km and the last 2 days have been hot and calm!! Around 15-20 guys both days too! I fly a comp-arf yak With a Prop!! LOL and my buddy fly's the dalton extra 260 man o man this is where you should've came!! that sux dude!

I havn't met you yet! i fly with a heli guy named shawn that was at the great hobbies fun fly a couple weeks agao and showed me video of your showtime! you called him helifag!..LOL! then willi went around with his camera and got everyone to call him that!! halarious dude!! but yeah we have 2 fun fly's a year you gotta come up!! i'll let you know next year! our club fly's some pretty big junk! just got home fly the comp-arf extra 3W 75 what a treat!

Now it's BBQ. Pool , And some brews!!

o alright cuz i couldnt for the life of me remember a manny. lol. Alright man i look forward to your fun fly next year. I will be sure to be up for atleast one of them. And i will have more than my showtime. I didnt have my yak at the great hobbies fly because i was saving it for the huckfest what a waste that was. What events do you guys hold on at what times of the year. I look forward to meeting you.

Yup, the funfly was a bust.......it sucked. Nobody but analog boy and his dad showed aside from some locals and Murray from Lloydminister. I don't get it, I advertised the best I could, but whatever, I won't be doing that again. And analog boy, the reason I didn't fly is because in that kind of wind, all I would do is end up taking the gear off or worse while trying to land my ultra pitch sensative F90 (I'm still learning). If I would have known you guys were coming friday night, I would have come out and opened the gates for you, but how was I to know, I don't check these forums everyday. All I can say is sorry, and hopefully somebody in this part of the world can host a decent 3D funfly someday. 'Till then, have fun, fly when you can, and keep a grin on your face.

It was a good attempt, you did what you could. What happened here is every organizers nightmare, minimal showing. It happens like that sometimes.

Hopefully next year will be better, whether you decide to try again or not. Somebody needs to step up and try something for next year, any takers???

There should be a Huckfest for every part of the world, sooner or later, it will happen.
