Cool Aviation.

Hi guys, hows it going? I want to become a pilot some day(REALLY SOON). I'm 15 as of Dec. 5 and am, of all else, a freshman! in high school. I live in in La Porte, Texas(25 miles south of Houston), does anyone else live here? I AM going to a college but have no clue which to go to. I'm going to be a pilot for my carrier, not just a hobby. I LOVE r/c(It's addicting) and want to spend more time flying but can't. Anyone know of a good college around my general area?

I am at Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant Oklahoma and it has one of the best flight programs I have found and the professors/instructors are great. I orginally started at LeTourneau University in Longview Texas, but the college I am at now I found that the courses are more suited for commerical and corporations. I am a junior now and going into corporate jobs, so I have already gone through what your going trough now, if you have any questions I will be happy to answer.

hey i am in the same boat as you are. accept maybe a few years ahead. i already have my private and am working towards my instrument rating. i am 17 and a senior in highschool. in my opinion i would go ahead and get your private and start building some hours. onnce you get some time under your belt you will know if you truly want to fly for a living. i do. also i have talked to many different pilots and i have concluded ( my opinion ) that it does not mattter what college you go to or what degree you get while you go there. just so long as you get a degree. personally if im going to get a buisness degree so that just in case i cant pass my next medical i realise that i dont want to fly anymore i will have something to fall backl onto.

That is a great answer. Be prepared with a plan B. You are always one medical exam from being unemployed.
