I know the suspence is kill'in ya'll. First flight perfect. Even was down doing some huckin after the third or fourth pass. On the second flight it was Snap-a-soarous time. I had to cut the second flight short because DumDum me forgot an important step in building. Lock tight on the engine bolts. See I knew i was forgeting something.
There's nothing really to report. My Spektrem didn't crash my plane, my Hitec servos didn't lockup, or ...

But it is the BEST flying plane I've flown to date. Man It's big too.

Sorry no pics. Out here in the sticks we're lucky to have internet. Heck I bought a new 8 track the other day. Man I just love this new tecnology.

Setup is:
2 Nobs 1950s
2 DX 7 RXs (for load management until I can get my Power X
Stock HW (exept servo arms)
28lbs
Flown with a borrowed DX-7 (hey Horizon, Where my X9303!!!!)

Later,
Kelly

Hi my name is Leland Lowery, i fly in Lumberton at Mt. Elim RC. I am planning on going to FFT next week. I was actually looking at going maybe Thurs. Morning and camping out all weekend. This will be my first time at RDRC but i have a feeling it will be fun. I was wondering if some of you experienced pilots can help me out with a new engine that I have. It is the new DL50(china) and i have it on a QQYak 85. I have run it on the ground some and flown it once. The plane trimed out perfect but after about 5to10 min. of flight the engine died. i have chated with somany people on the net, I am getting mixed up on what might be the problem. If anyone is willing to help me out with this next week if possible, even if I have to go earlier because I am on Vac. all week. I am willing to pay for the help because right now I am lost. This is not my first gasser, I have a FPE 3.2 but since it has been set I have never had to do any adjustments. Really appreciate any help.

Leland,
I am sure that there will be someone at the fft that is more than willing to help you with your engine. Thats what is great about this hobby, someone is always willing to help a fellow pilot out! It is probally just a needle setting. I have heard great things about that engine. For the price it seems awesome! Going to be one awesome weekend. See you next weekend!

Hey TEK, it's the 35% TOC/AM/SD YAK 54. I believe I got the only one like it in the country, It's the Orange/Blue/white with the black checker board on the cowl and wings. No sir, there not another one like it anywhere. Isn't that right Larry and Jay.

Like Nick said, there are plenty of people who would be happy to help you. It sounds to me that your problem might be in the fuel tank. The yellow tygon tubing swells a little when immersed in fuel and this can cause the pickup line to actually slide off the brass tube inside the tank. So only the tube is picking up fuel and when you get down to its' level, you pull air and the engine dies. I've had this happen before and now I'm very careful to safety wire this connection when assembling the tank. Have a look at it because, if it's what you are experiencing, it's a quick and easy fix!

We'll see you at the Fly-for-Tots...and you WILL have fun!

Yeah, but the "team" is a lot uglier.
