WOW!!! What a great day. Even with the high winds, ( I think 30 mph gust?) the turn out for RDRC's Spring Fling was AWESOME! We had 66 registered pilots, saw a lot of great fellowship, and put on a a great show for the spectators. We gave away some cool prizes that included a Lucky 13 donated by East RC, and we also raffled off one of the Park Zone T-28's that have become so popular. In fact, a new record was set with those. I have pics of that. So enough of the talk, lets look at some pictures! Check out the flags and you'll see how strong the wind was!

Yes! It was another great Spring Fly-In at RDRC, Larry. People came from the foothills (thanks, Greg Hames and company) to the coast (we loved having the Baxter family with us !) and everywhere in between. Yes, the wind was up, but that didn't dampen the enthusiasm at all. The mass T-28 flight was a "hoot" and every imaginable type of plane was flying all day long. And I hope somebody has pics of the hilarious T-28 parking lot flying and "grude match" that went on at the restaurant afterwards. My side still hurts from laughing so hard! And this my freinds, was the most Beatiful plane there! Check out Jim C's big 40% Edge 540. Some of you may remember this plane from years past. It was Josh Bunn's up until last year. Josh had a little mishap with it ( it was in a few pieces!) and Jim aquired it from him that way. Jim spend many hours over the winter break and re-built the model. Better than that, he decided to dedicate it's color scheme to the "Victory Junction". Check this thing out folks! Way to go JimBo!  |
