Look how close he is to first with only the finals to go!

Matt Balazs was in 7th in this class as of Day 2 but must have had a problem yesterday since he is not in the finals now.

That is CLOSE. What is interesting to me is that he has not won a sequence, but is ahead of two guys that have won multiple sequences. Consistency counts!!!

GO ALEX!!!

Well, the final NATS reports have started to come in and it seems that our boy Alex Porter pulled off third place in Intermediate!

Congrats, Alex. The circus is very proud of you!

Here are the scores for the finals. It was pretty close. Alex came into the finals about 23 points out of first (normalized score), didn't close the gap on his final known sequence but tied for first in the final unknown. It sure was a tight race for the top three in this class.

Oh yeah, apparently there was some sort of score posting "snafu" yesterday because Matt Balazs (from Randleman) finished sixth. Nice job!

Hey Robert,

I just wanted to post and say that the python is the stuff. Not that you didn't already know that! I got everything put together and flew it twice and then of course the next thing in line is my radio is starting to fail! It is on the way to Horizion Service. Will probably be out for a month or longer!

finally...back from a wind swept and frozen Muncie!! What a week!! Seeing some of the big names fighting the wind was amazing! Watching planes land, turn off the engine and get pushed BACKWARDS was incredible!! All in all though a great event even though it was harder work than Ithought possible whilst sitting still!! Lots of pix upon the RCGecko's Picasa site .... Enjoy....

My friend Riley Kissenberth ended up 1st in the the Sportsman class, best senior in the scale aerobatic Sportsman class, and also got the Bennet Cup Award for the highest scoring round in the entire contest which gets put into the AMA Museum in Muncie.. He's a local kid that only has been flying for a year and flying his EF 110" Yak for only a few weeks..

Congrats to all the guys!
