Thanks for identifying this plane! So this was NOT one of a kind, I have the original cow, but no wheel pants.

Yay! Josh got the ole Dr Pepper van fixed, so it is ready to sell. But, we will use it to haul our stuff up to the Henderson flyin for what may be its last HURRAH!

Uhh, with MONOKOTE.

My first guess was an Aeromaster. But, if you bought it 20 years ago, it was probably not a Great Planes kit, it may have still been an original Andrews kit. I'm not sure when Great Planes acquired the Andrews line.

That was (is) a great airplane. I don't know about the GP kit, but the Andrews kit could be built several different ways. Long wings, short wings, Long top wing and short bottom wing, and I think even a straight or swept bottom wing. Great flying plane!

Lots of ideas on how to prep the wood. Get all the old covering off, use acetone to get the old covering adhesive off. Use K2R spot remover and a heat gun to get all the old fuel/oil residue out of the wood. I would use the thin Balsarite around the firewall and about an inch behind to give the film a good surface to stick to. Use some light spackling compound to smooth any rough areas (use sparingly!).

Let us know how it goes.
