Ive seen aluminum tubes snap too . . . yes aluminum. It all happens to any type of tube, we just have to remember that these planes are not indestructable, and need to be careful what we do with them.

Yep! I got to see that first hand! RJ was flying his CAP and one wing panel came off. He had a good grasp on the airplane immediately. He had such a good handle on it that he flew around once to set up a better approach. I was very impressed. That was at last years RDRC Fly-For-Tots.

Serious Bad luck man. The stress of landing a one winger coupled with a croud watching. argh.. Ive had a wing ripp off a 140 sebart funtana. Diddnt make it down safe on its wheels either due to concerns about a few folks in the pitts. If it had been just me n my buddie there i would of hung in there n flown behind me n what ever to save it but alas the audience made me wann dump it on the strip. I landed it flat but the nose ripped off anyhow.lol
