| GPutt33 ![]() | Hello All - I just thought I would offer something I have spent 6 years putting together. I have collected the Coordinates in Latitude and Longitude of over 1000 RC Fields Runways. These are not based on the club contact's zip code like so many others are. These are actually the center of the main runway. I also have each club's web site address as well as the coordinates, elevation, closest city/town, State, and Country. I then go on to include web links to B&W aerial imagery as well as Google's new color sat images, and even a weather link. Last but not least is number of runways and what each surface is. Yea, I'm kind of a GPS / GIS geek, but it all centers around Flying The only draw back I've heard from others is it requires you to sign up in order to get to my files, but I don't send any e-mail out unless I have updated the files (which is about every 4 monthes or so). These are Excel files I have on my little MSN website that you can download if you want. I have the files broke up by AMA Dist, Non-AMA Clubs, and even some foreign fields. You can find the files at http://groups.msn.com/PuttsRCHomePage/ . Hope you can enjoy them. The other cool thing is you can upload the files directly into programs such as MSN's Streets and Trips to plan your next vacation If anybody see's a field I don't have, PLEASE let me know about it and I'll add it. I have also teamed up with Bill Lee from Dist VIII and I am piggy backing my data onto his, which then also gives you the club contact info. You can use Bill's locator by going to http://www.ama-dist-8.org/Clubs/Locator.php . And if your really into sat imagery, and you have tried out Google Earth, do a search for RC Airplanes in the Sport and Hobbies forum and you'll see a stripped down version of by data in their format. http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/ubbthreads.php/Cat/0http://bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/ubbthreads.php/Cat/0 Hope some one can benefit from this data as well as send me new ones. Think of it as getting your pin stuck on the map for your hometown like you do on vacation |

| GPutt33 ![]() | Hello - I just went and checked to make sure something with MSN hadn't crashed, and I found the files. Once you get to my Home Page with my AirTractor 802F on it, you should find some buttons on the left side. The one called RC Field Sites is just a little explanation of the files, and a picture of the U.S. with fields represented by a plane. To get to the actual files click on the button for Documents, once you get in there click on the folder titled "RC Field Coordinates - March 27th, 2006". This will take you to the page where the actual Excel files are located. I'm not sure it happens on everyone's computer, but when I left click on one of them, it opens up the file in Excel. You can also right click on each file and do a "Save Target As" method as well. If you still can't get to them please let me know and I'll just send you an e-mail with the Master file attached if you would like. Hope it helps and you find a new RC Club to go fly at in your travels |

| Flyin' Around ![]() | I have found another search engine that might interest people also. It shows the contact locations and not the actual locations but one neat feature is that you can zoom in on a location and it will show you were other clubs are located within a certain radius. http://find.mapmuse.com/re1/interest...AIRPLANE_CLUBS

| GPutt33 ![]() | The website RCBOZO created the link for is only the location of the club contact as provided to the AMA. So don't look for the actual RC Field at any of these locations. For instance, our club in Gillette WY is shown as being 35 miles south in another little town called Wright, simply because that's our contact person's home address. So the important thing I guess is that if your looking for interference due to another club being to close, please don't depend on this data, nor the AMA's club locator for that matter, since they are both the same thing, just have a different interface up front. Contact info is important and needed when your wanting to ask for permission to fly at a new club. As far as I know, my data is the only thing around that actually shows the location of the field itself. |

| uber has-been. | GP! I like it! We should talk more about bringing this mainstream. Finding field information is always a PITA, and we could probably do something pretty cool here. Thanks for the excellent contribution and information!

| GPutt33 ![]() | Hi Guys (and Gals) - I just wanted to Thank You for the compliments It has taken awhile to put together what I've got so far, and hopefully I can continue to add to it. According to AMA there are around 2400 registered AMA clubs, and so I'm not even quite halfway yet What has me pretty well stumped now is there aren't many more clubs with web sites posted anywhere that I can find. These websites for the most part are what provide me with most of the data I need to figure out where they are.If you've looked at my stuff but can't find your Club and want to get that pin stuck in the map to represent the Club, please let me know and I'll be glad to add it. Just don't be surprised if you do that I don't show up out of the blue someday to visit Good Flying to you All ![]()
