Not trying to insult anyone but your thread is more how to save my private field then save a child from getting hurt... Lets face it if it was about the children phone calls would have been made almost immediatly, if it is about the flying site it goes to a forum site. It is a shame any one would put flying a model over the safety of the kids. I am guessing yours were not playing soccer at the time? If they were and you new the danger I am sure it would have been diffrent. I have had to deal with this before when my daughter was playing a soccer game and some people were flying overhead. I politely walked over and expressed my concerns, then I politely told them to cease or the local officials would be called. Just my 0.02 cents |

Vsnap, I completely understand what you're saying and I agree 100%, but if you live in a place that has many potential places to fly like I do, then I don't think we can really understand it. If this site is lost, there will be no place to fly from what I've read. However, if this situation cannot be resolved as to not compromise anyone's safety, then I would suggest that 66stang work to shut down the site or get it's use limited. 66stang, if you can, why don't you try to get a club there. Here's two threads on RCU about starting "E" fields: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4540466/tm.htm http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4567032/tm.htm 50%

| Vsnap - If you read the original post, 66stang wasn't even there when this happened. It was someone else. He clearly expressed 2 concerns. How to stop the Ucando flying (and possibly injuring kids) and how to do it without losing his own privledges. This isn't like other sites where there is constant arguing and fighting over what a person may have said or meant to say. Why read into this and start up something that is not necessary. |

Thanks for the responses. The big problem is not so much for me. I belong to two fields. So I have a place to fly. But for small electrics this place is close and awesome to fly at. My main concern is safety. I also don't want to lose its use. See where we live all motor vehicals are prohibited in our parks. But for some reason this park has been spared.

I wasn't starting a thing. I did read his post, and it stated he used it for a close foamy flying field. Not his regular field. Also I am not one to start wars, I am one who spent 10yrs as a paramedic prior to going into aviation, and I am one who has spent numerous occasions taking care of injured people from carelessness. Trust me the kids hurt the most. My concern is today we think more about our flying (I am guilty here myself at times) then the safety aspect untill someone actually gets hurt.

| I would agree with many others suggestions, take the matter and turn it into positive for you electric guys! I am a glow head myself and have only flown electric heli’s, but have went up against the same stupid mentalities as this guy. Our local group lost the ability to fly anything at our local meeting place, so a few of us went to the City Council and educated them to the specific dangers to different types of flight. Although we were working with glow, they were very receptive to the understanding that it really doesn’t matter what your flying…. rules and safety will make it better. I think you have a good chance at getting them to back you in organizing a structured variance for certain types of park flying. This should allow you to take a proactive action, procuring you ability to fly there and keep dumba$$es like him out. Good luck and if you need help just shout.
