Default 4000mah won't take a charge well

I bought a used 102" qq yak rtf. The plane came with a powerbox , 2600 ingnition and 2 4000 rx bats. He told me one of the packs was a bit "off". I told him to send it anyways knowing something was not right.

The first attempt at charging I made on this battery with my triton. The triton would not charge higher than .1 amp even though I programmed it to charge at .4 but put in 1368 mah over 5 hours. I disharged it to 6.74v and it dumped at the rate I set of .5amps of 2100 mah. I stopped the discharge at this point to try and "be safe".
I am reacharging using the same parameters and the triton is only up to .2 amps and has so far put in 718mah in 209 minutes and is not complete.
What could the problem be?

I forgot to reset the safety timer past 240min so it timed out before it was charged. I plugged it back in and now it is accepting .3 amps.

I am not to sure. I have charged it twice now and it seems to be getting better. I don't know enough to be able to determine what is going on, if there is a problem or what the cause is. All 3 bats hold up under a 1 amp load which I believe to be a very good sign.
I'll tell you one thing, I will be getting a duralite charger once this mess with greyhound is done and I can get a new 102" QQ yak. One triton charger does not appear to cut it.

Hi Russ,

When Triton stops the charge, what is the voltage of your 4000 packs with no load and with 1 amp load?

The pack in question 4000mah no load 8.18 load 7.36
other 4000 no load 8.26 load 7.71
2800 ign no load 8.2 load 7.6
this is under 1 amp load with a h9 variable load checker

other 4000 no load 8.26 load 7.71 This pack is good but Triton undercharges it.

Thank you so much Reza. This is truly impressive service. I now use only duralite! A very good friend of mine Mike A. of Vernon BC is a duralite sponsered pilot and an awesome representative I might add so I will probably go through him if thats OK.

I will email you regarding the greyhound fiasco however. I have talked with Molly about this and she was most helpfull.

Thanks again Reza,
Russ Hillman
